Fender flares - outer banks carbonized gray

Mine have picked up some scratches and shallow abrasions from road debris and trail obstacles. I wonder if the color is molded in, in such a way, that I could sand them smooth. Anybody have ideas on refinishing them?

I gather you are referring to the standard plastic flares. You could definitely sand them. The material should be the same all the way through. You will end up with a different texture though after sanding. You could always trying some vinyl or plastic restorer after sanding but would probably need to paint them. Maybe Linex?

It’s a little off topic but anyone willing to sell or trade fender flares? I have a 2Dr Sasquatch Badlands and would like the non-Sasquatch flares.

I found the painted flares I was looking for. Traded some SAS flares I obtained. Make sure you check out the “other“ Bronco forum. There is definitely others out there that are willing to trade for SAS flares.

I got a set for the black diamond but thanks. Next project is how to go white flares on my Heritage.
