@djp, I was going to send you a message. I'm wanting to get an order in to have it by next April.
Which color do your recommend as being the closest to Badlands orange?
I know I don't want black. Someone in town has like a tan one from you and it looked "bright" in his Bronco.
Mesh top doesn't work well in the monsoons. And we had a very light Monsoon season this year.
Hi y'all, Lauri here and I am the proud owner of a MY21 Badlands, SAS, 2.7 auto, 4 door, soft top, Cactus Gray, no reservation, ordered 9/11/21, Took delivery 1/8/22!

Darrel, feel free to contact me on the website too.

For an order next April, just contact me in March and we'll have you all setup.
As far as color, if you are wanting to match the orange accents of your Badlands, I dont have an "orange" color.

Yes, the lighter colors are bright, it's like having a moonlight in your bronco. I think it is fantastic as the interior of the bronco is sooooo dark! Sounds like you dont want that.

Here is the color sheet.

Perhaps you may like a CHARCOAL as it's dark, but not black so let's a little light in.

Thank you! I think I will go with buckskin. But, being female I may change my mind when I place my order.
I may order early. I don't want to take off the J top until I have yours in hand. We could have afternoons in NM in the winter that call for flopping the top open. Sun is brutal year around though.

Much better instructions! What is the purpose of the DIY post? Is that included with the package, if not can you give exact measurements of what to buy?
I am planning to upgrade to version 4 sometime in the spring. I'm thinking Indian birch or Sand should pair well with my A51 BLs!

So the post is something new we've been developing/using.
It is not yet in the install kit, but we are thinking about doing it.

The reason you'd remove the front finger screws only is if you wanted to run the bimini under your hard or soft top. You need to release those front finger screws in order clamp down your hard/soft top.

If you recall, there is large amount of tension on the bimini top. So if you were to release the front finger screws, it's quite hard to stretch the canvas back forward and screw it back into the front. You are fighting fighting the tension of the bungees at the back.

However, it is possible and we've done it, but it's a PITA ! :)
So we came up with the idea of a post instead. So you can pull the canvas forward and re-attach, much easier !

35mm - M8 x .125 Bolt (you can do a hex bolt or black allen or anything that is M8 35mm)
Washer
Jam nut (a thin nut)
Wing nut

Here is a quick video I made of using the post.

@Darrel- Buckskin is the color I have in my truck. If you want, I can bring it by or meet you somewhere and you can see how it looks against your Bronco.

Thanks Dan! That would be awesome if I could leave the Bimini installed under my hardtop. Have you tried this with the hardtop imstalled?

In this picture it is artic white, charcoal, sand, and Buckskin? If that is sand it looks like a pretty close match to my Desert Sand color.

Yes, you can keep on under hardtop or softtop.

Just release the front 2 finger screws (or pull the bimini off of the post).
then the side bungee (so you can reach your hand across and clamp down the hard-top clamps)

Here is a video on the soft top. Hardtop is same, you just need to release 2 of the side bungee's so you can reach your hand in and turn the clamps.

Hmm now it looks like the Taupe or Indian Beige might be closer. the Dessert Sand is a screwy color in some light situations it looks white and others it is kinda dark. it was a bear matching my trailer Paint to the Bronco.
Could I send you a paint sample to match? not looking for spot on, just close enough, that doesn't clash.
Thanks
