Aftermarket Mirrors

This is a bit long winded, but I was wondering if there is some sort of replacement mirror (not the entire housing) available that does NOT have the small convex spot mirror that is built into the mirror face. I find that it is a PITA to have to try to look past the spot mirror to see the area behind me, such as when changing lanes or merging on to the expressway. If it were placed low and to the inside, it would work better in my opinion. (30 years of driving a transit bus experience-spot mirrors are usually low and tucked in tight, allowing unblocked viewing of the entire main mirror`s surface) I like to use the side of the vehicle as a point of reference when using my mirrors, which I can do with the main mirror OR the built in convex spot mirror, but not both at the same time as the spot mirror`s point of aim is a bit more outboard than the main mirror. I have the standard package (321A) and didn`t know if the higher packages have the same issue or if the spot mirror is adjustable and separate from the main mirror.
I would love to be able to recitfy this issue by using a stock or aftermarket part. At worst I will have to use some sort of puny spot mirror purchased from O`Reiley`s Auto Parts (or some such place) but would rather not.
Thank you!

I have this same issue with the base mirrors, I don't need built-in blindspot section. I've looked into it and my thoughts are the higher trim level mirrors that have the blindspot monitor icon in the mirror glass should snap in place of the base mirror glass. The higher trim glass is full face glass mirror.

I've not yet invested in buying the higher trim mirror glass to test my theory. I've been waiting for parts availability.

There was some manufacturer that posted up on B6G like a year ago with their own mirror, somehow it helped with blind spots, but not sure if it had a separate blind spot mirror in it. Unfortunately I don't remember who they were or how much it cost.

Personally, I love the blind spot mirrors on my Base. Because BLIS doesn't work for shit from my experience and I like to be able to see more.

So if you don't have the marriage is BLIS system you get a different mirror? Glad I got the BLIS. Of course my marriage has always been BLIS!! 😁

Great video! Not quite what I had in mind, but will work admirably, even though I don`t have the BLIS package (didn`t want all of that stuff)!
Thank you!

I'm just going to use the BLIS mirror glass when I get around to it. The Suma driver's side convex mirror would bother me too much.

If you learn to properly adjust your mirrors, you don't need all the gimmicks.

I would prefer to do without the spot mirror as it blocks my vision to the outside upper left. I will be purchasing that Suma mirror to eliminate that issue on the driver`s side. My 30 yrs driving a transit bus has me very comfortable with the Suma, having driven with way worse at times. I purposely didn`t order all of the lane save, BLIS, and auto whatzits package as I don`t need/want all of that stuff, let alone pay for it. I agree, properly adjusted mirrors will leave you not needing all of the fancy stuff.

I'm old. My first few cars had just a manually-adjusted drivers side mirror and the windshield mount rear view mirror. The first car I bought with a passenger side mirror was my 1987 Ranger STX. And it was manually adjusted.

🤣🤣🤣
