Of course, now that the top is off, I needed a way to store it. I got tired of running into it with the golf cart with such a large footprint. I didn’t see what I wanted so I made it. This rack holds the top vertical and has rollers so it can be moved around easily.
I designed and made it out of 2.5 x 2.5 oak hardwood from Lowes. There’s an abundance of 8” lag screws and L brackets along with TightBond to make sure it never separates or comes loose. I used high density 1.5” foam on the inside surfaces to protect the top from damage. I even made a quick release shelf for the T Tops held in place with 12” spikes in a half inch hole. The casters have foot brakes, a must. I went with a medium size with rubber tires…super smooth rolling. I think the shelf would even accommodate the doors if need be. The hardwood quality was key, spared no expense there. It’s worked out ok so far.
