I've had my Bronco for almost a month now and I have done more to it that I have any other vehicle I've owned in this short amount of time. But I made a really good profit on my truck that I sold to get this. So that allowed me a pretty good chunk to have fun modding this bronco. I'm just going to list what I've done so far and then attach pics. I have two things that are not installed yet. But one is coming in this week. The film or tape for the rockers and bottom of the doors that protect it from rocks being thrown by the tires. I got black because I thought that would also look good. But I should hqve that installed by this weekend. And the second thing is the Kompact blow off valve from Turbo Smart. I received it and installed it but it didn't work. I.checked it with my multimeter and it was getting power to it. But just not functioning. So I had to send it back to turbo smart so they can figure out what is wrong with it. So hopefully I'll get it back soon. I'm excited to have that because it gives you that "ppssssssh" sound when the boost pressurized and then blows out that air. Just a classic sound from a turbo that for some reason ford decided not to have on this vehicle. But luckily we can buy a blow off valve that does have a slotted hole to blow that air out of the system so you audibly hear the ppssssh. Sound. The stock one doesn't hqve that hole and just recirculate the pressurized air back into the system. But I'll post some pics and a video of that once I get it back. On the topic of turbos the other thing I'm disappointed in with the bronco is you don't hear the turbos spooling up. On the 2023 f150 I just sold the turbo spool sound was awesome. I wish there was a way to do it with the bronco. Some people say an after market charge pipe or down pipe might help. But who knows. I'm going to put thst on the back burner though right now because I. Broke. Lol.
Here's all the things I have done and have pictures of since buying my bronco.
The first thing I did was the Rough Country 3.5 inch suspension lift. I love Rough Country products. I've used them for many years. I've put their short and long arm lifts on several jeeps. And they are just great. And so far this one is too. The ride is actually really nice on the road too. My dad road in it twice now and he said it really rides like a stock vehicle. Nice and smooth.
Next were the tires. I went with a 35 x 12.50 x 17 tire. The Yokahama Geolander X AT Summit Design. They have another model of the geolander X AT and I forget the name of it but I don't like the profile of it. The Summit Design is definitely the more visually appealing version of that tire. But it's nice to have a choice of two designs with one tire. II'm Sure the other one performs exactly the same and maybe others would find the other one better looking than the Summit. But it's a great on and off road tire. Pretty aggressive but rides really nice and quiet surprisingly on the road. And this 2.3l turbo engine has plenty of power to make these big tires go. I can't believe how much power it has. Really impressive.
Next I went with the Pro Comp Series 61 Cognito 17x9 -6 wheels. You can see them in the pics below. I think they are a good looking wheel too. I think i am going to use this set of wheels and tires for the winter. Then I have another set of goodyear 35 " tires and I forget the name of them and don't feel like running out to the garage right now. Lol. And the wheels on those are Rough Country 84 series black. And I painted the center of those orange and left the outer ring black. And I am going to use that set for the summer.
Next I installed the Roush cold air intake system on it. Very easy install. And a great way to get a lot more air flowing through there and gain a little horse power and improve your mpg. And it gives you a nice sound too.
After that I installed the Corsa cat back stainless exhaust with dual tips. And that's pictured too. I researched a lot of different exhaust systems before deciding on this one. It's all personal opinion but I liked this one the best. I think it has a great sound. Low and throaty, a lot of crackling when slowing down. No hum inside the vehicle.
Then I got the Weather Tech mud flaps another really easy install. They are pre drilled and line up with the holes exactly where you need them. They aren't huge and bulky but just enough to stop rocks being theownxby the tires from hitting the side of the Bronco. And if you're going to do any serious off reading you can take them off in just a couple minutes by unscrewing 8 screws.
Next I installed the Rough Country Ditch Lights right nest to the mirrors on the diver and passenger side. There's a place to mount them already there for you. FORD REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT THE MODIFICATIONS PEOPLE WOULD BE DOING TO THESE AND ADDED STUFF LIKE this and places to mount things. Not too hard of an install. I was not going to get ditch h lights yet be cause they are like 350 to 500 bucks from every company. But rough country has their ditch lights at 79.99 which is crazy. And the lights are rreally Well made. Heavy duty and bright l.e.d lights. I'm so glad I went with these. I don't see any reason to spend hundreds of dollars on these when the rough country ditch lights are bright and very capable.
And then the part I just installed today was the Extreme Terrain hood scoop. I was originally going to spend my ford points on the one ford makes. It's $409. THEN I SAW THIS ONE FROM extreme Terrain for $119 ON SALE RIGHT NOW. I CALLED THEM BECASUE I WANTED TO FIND OUT WHY IT WAS SO CHEAP. IT LOOKS LITERALLY EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE ONE FORD MAKES. And after talking to them it is exactly the same but just a whole lot cheaper. So that came in the mail today and I installed it. Took about ten minutes. Another easy one to do. It's not a functional hood scoop but just for looks. I think it looks good.
I forgot about the front and rear bumpers. They are from Rough country too. And I have the lights in the front bumper as well.
And that is all of the modifications I've done so far. I am definitely done buying any other mods for a long time. I used all of the profit I made on my f150 to put towards all of these mods and some money I had saved up. So it worked out well. I am building something right now. But I already have all the materials for it. I have an electric dirt bike that I take everywhere with me and I already had the hitch carrier for it that I used to haul it with my f150. But I wanted to be able to also haul some cargo outside of the vehicle. So I'm building a hitch carrier basket that I'm going to bolt onto the dirt bike carrierand I'll post pics of that when it's finished. But that's it. Hole you enjoy. If you have any comments or questions or suggestions. I'm always open to suggestions. Thanks, George.
