After a few years of ownership and some overlanding/off-roading I decided I wanted to give the Bluebonnet Bronco a FakeSquatch upgrade just to help avoid and navigate some of the bigger obstacles I might encounter. With an already upgraded rear axle with locker from the factory I worked with Schomp Ford in Aurora, CO to add the 2" Ford Performance suspension kit, the 2.7L Performance Tune, and Rough Country HD tie-rod sleeves. I went with 17x8.5" 703 Method Race Wheels and Mickey Thompson LT315/70R17 Baja Legend EXP tires to complete the upgrade.

In addition to totally changing the look of the truck, the suspension and tune definitely change the driving experience for the better. Despite the higher stance the suspension does just as good with body roll and I've personally noticed less nose dive on braking at stop lights, etc. Road noise and handling don't really seem any different or worse than the stock set-up. The tune is fantastic, and as a lot of folks have noted it seems much smoother getting moving from a stop and there's less hunting and jerking between gears. My family went on a trip to Colorado National Monument and we went on a mild trail south of the park to Rattlesnake Canyon to break things in.

Obviously there's more work to be done if this was to ever become a true rock crawler, but I definitely recommend the Ford suspension if anyone is looking to step up from the stock wheels on the non Sasquatch trims.

I'm hoping to really get on some fun trails this fall at Super Celebration West!

That wheel and tire combo looks great. Im going to probably go with Mickeys when I wear out the Goodyear NotWranglers on mine.

That is a great ride and nice mods. I'm getting the Ford engine tune next week on my 2.3. I am a power junkie and would have liked the 2.7 but that is what was available so I went with it. I don't mind the engine and the tune brings it close to the stock 2.7 with torque and the same HP. However, tuning the 2.7 sounds great. I am pleased for you. It all sounds real nice.

Great ride and looks cool.

Really good lookin' rig. I'm really like the idea of the Method wheels and their bead grip for an offroad wheel without the need for beadlocks.

That was what sold me on the Method wheels - the bead grip tech. I really don't need to air down like crazy, but I have a portable compressor and like to be able to at least get it into the teens on psi if I'm gonna be hitting any real ledges and rocks. So far so good!

What sold me was a video done by Nate at @DirtLifestyle, he had them down to 2 PSI wheeling in snow and rocks without issue. So going into the teens should not be an issue for the type of wheeling I plan on doing.
