2022 Base 2 Door SAS Mod Journey

Decided to top off the fuel for the first time after 250 miles and managed to get 13.3 driving mostly around town. I’m sure as the miles accumulate the mileage will improve some plus the highway mileage will be better.

Nice build so far- reminds me of my beloved white ‘93 Explorer Sport 2-door. And the possibilities are endless.
I noticed the same thing on my 2-door Big Bend with first-tank gas mileage- it started low and climbed steadily, eventually leveling off at 21-22 mpg over the first 1500 miles.
I’m in Somerset County/ central New Jersey- where are you? I still haven’t seen another 2-door “in the wild”, but I’ll keep an eye out for you.

Thanks, every vehicle I have ever had went through the customization process, never liked run of the mill where all the models look the same.

Did a little painting the other day of some interior parts from @Mabett, the door storage pockets needed a little pop, the pedals and foot rest, and the center console arm rest cover.

Also started the rear seat delete and mocking up the floor leveling panel for the pup.

Couple more updates from the other day, installed the @Mabett picatinny rail on the dash for my GoPro camera and the @tuffskinz white grille letters.

Had a few hours before the rain last night to get the Westin HDX side steps installed.

Did a simple mod yesterday that has been in the past a highly debated "What do you need that for?" , "I just use my elbow", "I use the handle" questions, but I finally got the family to use it on my other ride and it does avoid hand or finger prints on the door. I know "First world problems" I get it.

Jam Handles, I opted for the two finger model due to the lighter weight of the door compared to my F150 doors.

I finished the rear platform today, all in for materials wood, paint, adhesive, and area carpet all from Home Depot $75.

I also did the 20% tint on the doors and all the rear glass.

And another cosmetic addition for the front end, a grille guard with light bar mounting capability for future lighting.

Very nice! Everything you did is spot on. Can’t go wrong with the color. I went back and forth with about 6 different colors until I decided on the Oxford White OB 2 door.

Moving on to some non-cosmetic additions, I installed a MagnaFlow axle-back black dual tip exhaust.

Did an Rough Country MLC-6 Multiple Light Controller in anticipation of adding lights and having somewhere to tie it into the OEM Upfitter switches. There is a power and ground for each switch with a 40 amp relay and 30 amp fuse. The main power line has a manual 50 amp circuit breaker intergraded to 8g cable to the battery terminals and an integrated LVCO (Low-Voltage-Cut-Off) circuit. This is well constructed as well as functional. Total installation took about an hour due to my OCD with heat shrink tubing and soldered wires not crimped with the included connectors.
