So, after about 4 weeks of Bronco ownership, I decided it was time to personalize my Bronco.
I started by taking it to my local Ford dealership to have them add:
Roof rails and crossbar (important note - this was not available as a "kit" from the dealer. It had to be ordered as parts (to the tune of $2,400) and took about 6 weeks for everything to arrive. :(
Rear storage drawer system
Console safe
Tailgate tray
Next it was time to put some proper wheels and tires on so I went to the guys at 4 Wheel Parts and had them add:
2.5" Coilover lift
Upper control arms
Rear traction bar
As for the wheels, I really wanted to keep the OEM offset (positive 55mm) so once again I called my Ford dealership to find out what options they had. As it turned out, they had a set of 18" black machined alloy wheels (factory take-offs)
from a 2019 Ranger (18x8; +55 offset). I picked those up, drove over to Discount Tire, and had them put on some 285/75 r18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers.
I'm so excited about the way it turned out. Looking forward to getting off-road.
Oh yeah, I also decided to create a custom leveling platform for my gear (plywood. pvc pipe and some carpet). I've found it really helps to load, unload and manage all of my gear. I'll also be using it as a sleeping platform.
Next in line is some off-road lighting!
