Looking at a post on the shock recall and I really don’t want anything to do with Ford’s bandaid fix if I’m not going to get new shocks. Someone was talking about just going with all new 6112 Bilstein’s, has anyone had any experience with these? I don’t want to have to do upper a arms for the geometry, I would just like to change them out and be good to go. Any thoughts opinions will be appreciated. I’m driving a 2023 Badlands 4 door with the sass.

Check out 5100’s or 6100’s and just don’t use the height / lift adjustments they offer.

I have the 6100’s but have them adjusted for 2 1/2” lift in the front and a 1” lift in the rear.

I was borderline UCA’s after the front lift so I just went ahead and did that as well.

No need though, just don’t use their lift features..

5100 are tuned more for on-road use and 6100 are tuned more for off-road use..

Good luck!

I assume that’s AI generated? It’s close but not exact.

5100 are going to be very close to the Hoss stock shocks.

6100 and 6112’s basically use the same shock except the 6112’s come with new springs. 6100’s are just the shock.

If the OP does not need springs then it comes down to 5100 or 6100’s for a swap / replacement of the stock shocks..

5100 mostly on road and some light off-roading.

6100 more off-road capable at the expense of on-road comfort.

6112 same as 6100 but they come with new springs.

The 6112 comes with different springs not just new springs. Stiffer. Mine are coming assembled for $1800. Not bad.
I’ve read many owner reviews and they all love them. The brake dive and body roll is what I most dislike driving my Bronco.
Starting to think AI 🤖 is the best source for most any question. It kinda throws out all the personal emotions with fact based content. Or at least it reads everything, cutting through the chase.

Yes that is what I said.. The AI description you used is not entirely correct.. I have zero personal emotion about any of the shocks being discussed.

The OP, in this case, does not need new springs! They need shocks and the 5100 or 6100 will easily do the trick at a fraction of the 6112 price..

Again:

5100: Compatible to the stock Hoss shocks

6100: Better tuned for off road use

6112: same as 6100 but with new springs

They are basically the exact same shock but the 6112 adds new springs.

Based on what the OP said, 6112 would be serious overkill..

5100 or 6100 would do the trick for their needs..

Be careful believing AI as some of it is also curated from user / personal opinions.

Good luck OP

I replaced my flat part missing garbage with 5100 s night and day. Couldn’t be happier. Well maybe if Ford did the right thing and paid for their blunders.

So the 6100’s make sense for me. If did 1/12” in the front and nothing in the back would that bring me close to level and would I have to do UCA?
Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the help!

I did the front at 2 1/2" on mine because I have a winch, a winch plate and an ARB dual under the hood that all added weight, and additional rake, to the front. With me also doing the rear at 1" I still have about 1/4" of rake which is not really noticeable.

With that 2 1/2" lift on the front I was still within spec for alignment, but it was close.. I decided to do UCA's since I was borderline.

The Bronco normally has about 1 1/2" of factory rake. You could have a bit more or a bit less as nothing will ever be exactly the same across different Broncos. Best to measure how much rake you have before hand as spring wear, and / or other factors, could make the rake amount vary..

If you only did 1 1/2" in the front I highly doubt you'd need new UCA's and you'd be level or very close to level.. Measure the rake amount 1st, then set the front 6100's to account for that amount of rake.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out!
