I think this would be great for consistently sunny locations and I applaud the creativity of this solution. But only being able to use your racks with the top back would be very impractical here in Indiana. Two days ago, we had a 14% chance of rain forecasted and next thing I know we had a storm over us that dumped 3 inches of rain in 2 hours. I think I'd rather have a regular rack and go through the hassle of installing it every time I need it. That way, if I want to install it with the top up, I can. And if I want to install it with the top down, I can. Plus, I don't really like the idea of having a crossbar in the middle that breaks up the open sky experience with the top down.
