Looking at a bunch of aftermarket racks on Amazon and can’t find one that will allow me to remove the front tops. Anyone find one $350 or less that they have installed successfully?

Thanks in advance.

the Hooke road rack looks interesting a buddy has one on his wildtrak and he can take of the front tops. The Ford Factory rack you can take off the front sections but it is a PITA so I ditched the roof rack.
its not sub $300 unless you get just the half rack then you can take off both front and middle sections. https://www.hookeroad.com/products/...yJxFk57vAEDPPh3IR7lXjKTzt4UqkI_hoCmxUQAvD_BwE

I was able to avoid the $500 trailer hitch with $125 on Amazon. Avoided $600 running boards and got a set for $100 on market place.

Are you willing to use a metal grinder to accommodate roof panel removal?
I wouldn't put a $350 rack on my Bronco because it would be cheap junk from china that would have cheap hardware and could lead to damage, injury, creating an accident by falling apart on the road ect. I got this one after much searching since I was particularly about wanting side (walls) for items to sit securely down and in it. It's big but relatively light. They claim the panels can be removed, but I had to grind it down for enough clearance. https://www.extremeterrain.com/redrock-bronco-xd1-aluminum-hard-top-roof-rack-fb15155.html

I would like to see what you find in that price range.
I have a 2 door with factory rack. I can remove the front roof panels. Maybe you can find a used one.
I just ordered a rhino rack platform for it. None of the roof racks or accessories seem to be inexpensive.

Yes, I just made some about 2 weeks ago. I have 9-sets.
Weather has not permitted marketing photos yet, so I should have some better pictures/videos up on the website soon

Intro price is $249. Our margins are low.

They are a tool-less install and install in seconds, and stow in your Bronco.

I've got the Ford rack with a Yakima Locknload rack ($830 new), which came this way from the factory. Front roof panels come off fairly easily. Going to be selling this though as it won't fit in my garage with lift I'm planning to install. I'd probably sell both for around $500.

So I broke down and bought a OEM take off for $400 from market place. I like the half rack idea but need the front bar for my surf racks and 10’ surfboard.

Related question: Does the OEM rack come with plastic inserts to close the gap left by the side rails on the rear brackets if you want to remove the side rails and leave the brackets in place? The reason why I ask is that I’m thinking about getting the OEM rack and the Mabett end brackets and cross beam but having the option to leave just the back brackets and cross beams in place and adding the front rails and beams when needed.

I think I know what your question but I'm not really sure. Here's a photo of the bracket however, going by what I think is your question I will look at my rack closer today, get more pictures if necessary and then post another reply.

Note: My Bronco was sent to the dealer by Ford back in the beginning to be used as a loaner for visibility. When it arrived from Ford, it came with both these racks, a winch and other accessories. I used my reservation to by it out of loaner service when it had about 500 miles on it. I never saw the Bronco without the racks and didn't see the dealer install it so I'm not sure how it goes together. Ford should have pdf install instructions on the site where they sell it.

Thanks for looking! I had ordered a full length rack from Amazon. When it arrived, it was pretty sturdily made but some critical parts were missing. I asked the seller to send me the parts and instead, they offered me $35 to find a fix! I sent it back. However, the mid brackets which had the long side rail going into in ftom the front and a short rail going to the back bracket from it had a removable piece of plastic to close off one rail hole in case you did not want the rack going all the way to the back I guess. Anyways, I wondered if the OEM rack had the same on its back bracket?

…Hope that makes sense :)

I just picked up the OEM rack and it has 2 hole plugs on the front option as the bar is in the back now.

Sure. I put the bar in the front position and move the plugs back. Little screw in caps.

I've learned that cheap is expensive, especially when it comes to modifications, upgrades, and accessories. I have the Trailrax, very pricey, and am very happy with it. Sturdy, heavy, handles heavy cargo, and looks great. I can remove the forward 2/3 roof sections, but the rear-most will be a fairly permanent.

Expensive, you get what you pay for. You can save some money at thebronconation store, and you night find somebody selling it at a good price at Bronco6g.com (scroll down to bottom of the threads to buy/sell.) You might get lucky. They're just north of Salt Lake if you're in the intermountain West. Keep an eye out for sales.
