I have a 2-door Badlands and considering one of these half-racks from Turn Offroad. I have the OEM rack, but not a fan of the looks and also like that this rack can stay on when removing the entire hard top. I'm hoping that the icing on the cake would be if this half-rack is also compatible with the Besttop sunrider. On the surface, it looks like there would be no interference, but not sure if the Sunrider cloth would rub / wear on the front of the rack or restrict the side arms from folding back all the way...

If anyone has already tried this combination, let me know. Or if you just have a couple close up photos of the Sunrider folded back / open? Thanks!

I like the looks of the 1/2 rack but I would be very surprised if you didn't have issues if you installed the Sunrider. It looks like the fabric of the Sunrider would be laying across the front face of the rack. It sure seems that eventually it would wear through or at least leave wear marks on it.

Thanks @Deano Bronc, that is my fear also. I have reached out to someone at Turn OR to ask, but not sure if they have tested with a Sunrider. I could skip the Sunrider and just strap the front tops to the half-rack when driving slowly on a trail... (probably not a good idea, I know).

I'm also asking if their 4-door half-rack would fit my 2-door (it's enough shorter front to back that should be out of the way of the Sunrider). I think the only difference is the front clamp / mounts are probably different since there is no OEM recess there in the 2-door hard top.

Do you mean to add a forward recess above the glass, similar to the 4-door hard tops? I would not be brave enough to try that. I would think the OEM recess is part of the mold in the 4-door variation, which means the material is thicker aound the OEM recess. If you just notch out a recess, could create a thin / weak spot (on an already fragile piece).

For the Turn OR top, they have a clamp that works without the OEM notch in the forward portion of the top. And I have the Turn half-rack in a box from the December sale that I'm hoping to install soon (I think winter in OH is over, finally). So we'll see soon how it works...

I agree that it could create a weak spot! Won’t know until we try 😅. Or an engineer shows us that there is just not extra material to work with there.
