Oracle Triple Fog Lights in Modular Bumper

I recently install the Oracle Triple Fog lights in my modular bumper for my Non-Sas Badlands. They are great. Easy install with aux switch and very bright. I'm wondering if these are not to be used with oncoming traffic? I have had some people flash their lights at me. Should I be making an adjustment to point these down a little, or is it just expected that fog lights like these should not be used in traffic? Thanks

If the triple lights all go on at the same time that would be a solid no. Typically the inner ones would be wired separately and would be street legal while activated only with low beams. And make sure that all of lights are adjusted just below the low beam light pattern. There is a good video someone posted here on another brand, but shows the correct height and spread. Post up some pictures!

Here is a picture of the lights installed. Don't have any pics of them throwing light up on something. When I flip the switch all 6 lights come on - that is how the wiring harness from Oracle has them set up. They are definitely higher then my low beams. I didn't notice any instructions on how to adjust them, but can probably figure something out. But, sounds like you are saying only one on each side can be on to be street legal. Bummer. Did not realize that. Thank You

Normally the innermost one on each side are fogs and have to go on off with low beam or by themselves and the other ones are off road use only. As wired they are ”off road use only”

Watching. I ordered these same lights a little over a month ago, hoping they arrive soon.

There is a good write up on 6g about installing spacers to lower the beams. The write up and Oracles website says they are DOT compliant. Sounds like Oracle is now including the spacers with the kit, but there are readily available at Lowes as well. Going to give it a try. Thanks for responding TK.

Cliff, they are bright. The angle they are installed at now throws off more light then my high beams. If your kit comes with spacers, install them in the upper bolts of the four bolts that holds each light in. If the kit doesn't come with spacers, the ones recommend on the 6g forum are Hillman 5/32-in I.D. x 3/8-in O.D. x 1/4-in Long Natural Nylon Spacers

Take a look at this information from KC lighting. Has links to all 50 states.

We have to remember that DOT and SAE compliance has to do with how they are engineered and compliance within the lighting industry. All the non-headlights are regulated by the individual states laws and federal law. It is enough to make your head hurt. Rule of thumb is that headlights and fog lights are street legal and everything else isn’t. And even when off road we have to be courteous to oncoming traffic.

Makes sense and I agree about being courteous even off road. Probably just as dangerous for me as the other driver having them blinded and coming at me - on or off road.
