Has anyone installed a motorcycle carrier on the back of the Bronco? I'm afraid the Sasquatch tires are going to push the carrier out really far.

(This is not my rig, but it's f'n sweet)

I haven’t but it shouldn’t be significantly different than your JKU (assuming that’s your rig). I deleted the tow pack to get my Bronco quicker but here are some pics that may help

I think the real question will be what will be your spring upgrade for your sasquatch suspension with all that gear.

A guy on one of my Facebook groups posted this photo (not mine, still waiting!) He said he was using the Curt hitch and he suggested using an extension as the clearance for his spare was really tight. An extension would further decrease the 350 lb tongue weight on the stock hitch, though. I’m hoping to get an Ultimate mx hauler https://mojomotosport.com/products/ultimate-mx-hauler , but I’m waiting until my Bronco arrives so I can check the spare tire clearance dimensions before ordering.

This is great (also, very jealous of that combo). Thanks for sharing!

That's me!

I came in here to post the same photo.

The Bronco handles the carrier no-problem. The only issue I ran into was my footpeg rubbing the spare tire. I just wrapped the peg with a cloth, but a hitch extension or removing the spare would be better. That dirtbike is pretty light. I wouldn't want to use a hitch extension with a heavier bike.

Sorry for stealing your photo!! It was too good not to share and I wasn’t sure you were on this forum. Thanks for the additional info! I promise to post my set-up as soon as I have my Bronco.

Anyone have a link to a great carrier that is lightweight? Preferably made from aluminum? I need to find a solution for dirt bike additions as well.

No worries at all. I'm glad my photo was memorable enough for someone to remember and post in this thread.

I appreciate the kind words, and be sure to enjoy that Bronco when it arrives!

Other option is looking for an enclosed trailer second hand. I scored and 10' enclosed aluminum trailer from a landscaper that was retiring. Towed it out to far east Maine filled with 3 Harleys and our camp gear. Usually we ride where ever we go but 8 + hours and taking all the camp gear seemed much easier.

I have a 6x12 open trailer. It's perfect for bikes, ATVs, or 2 seater UTVs. I wish I went with a 14 to fit 4seaters. It'd be close to the tow rating of the Bronco, but based on the towing I've done with it so far, I don't think it'd be an issue at all.

Mine's a 2.3/7speed for reference.

What size tire are you running? And what wheels are those?

Do you think a KTM 690 Enduro R or Yamaha Teneree 700 would be fine (with an extender), about 150ish heavier than your bike.

Absolutely. I'd just be sure to use a carrier rated for the weight. A lot of the cheaper ones are really just meant for lightweight motox type bikes. I've hauled a 690 Duke on mine plenty of times without issue. I'd think that would be similar in weight.

Revival of old thread now that my ice mountain bronco delivered. I ended up going with the All Jacked Up Switch Hauler with the drop tongue. I’m using a Curt 8 inch extension to clear the spare tire that I leave in place and also use for my bicycle rack. I was really cautious for my first trip, but it was mostly unnecessary- this thing is really solid on the freeway and dirt roads. Hardly even know it’s back there while driving and, at least for my small dirt bike, it doesn’t block the rear window.

I don’t have to lift the rear of my bike to load it, I can pretty easily get it on there and just slide it into place with the platform raised just a little bit.

I’d like to get a passenger side swing out hitch extension instead because even with the drop tongue and the platform lowered, the tailgate won’t clear the carrier. I can open it a few inches, but full access would be ideal.

I was out in DV this past March, drove down from WA. This little trailer is a single-rail trailer but they also make a three-rail trailer. It's a Kendon knockoff fold up/stand up trailer. They're nifty to store in a garage for someone who's tight for space or if you just don't want a big trailer. For most people the three-rail is the obvious choice and on this forum makes the most sense........however......one MAJOR benefit of a single-rail trailer.......you're not having to wait on a flaky friend who can't get out of work when he says he will........or doesn't pay half for gas.....or isn't ready when they say they will be! :ROFLMAO::LOL: :p

ANNNNNNYYYYY-waaaaaays....... I was also looking for a hitch mount Moto rack. As someone previously posted, I've seen a couple of various brands from ones that mount the bike via the footpegs and others with rails, mounted to the hitch. I'm tore on which style might work best and how it works with the spare. I also fear getting an extension as it isn't not great for the tongue weight. The other solution I've seen is to take the tire off or install a spare tire delete kit then mounting the spare Bronco tire onto the roof. Hmmmm........ Keep posting up folks, I'm interested in what others are doing!!!(y)

Ummmmm.......(just my two cents) NO!! The tongue weight for any of these bigger ADV bikes is 450LBS plus! The Yamaha T7 is 450-480lbs and a 690 is 350ish lbs (then consider adding all the farkle weight you've probably put on it! I've never met an ADV person that left their bike stock:ROFLMAO:)). Most current small dirt bikes weigh between 250lbs and 330ish lbs (CRF 300L). Tongue weight on the Bronco's are 350lbs but you gotta consider the dynamic weight of these things shifting around and bouncing from bumps in the road which will make the weight go way over 350lbs!!! My KTM on the previous thread, with all the crap I added to it weights 275lbs full of fuel, under the 350lbs weight limit for the tongue but if I get an extension to clear the spare, I'm fearful the tongue weight will be exceeded or really damn close to the limit.

Hey......I'm just a dude on a web page, research it for yourself. If it was me, for those bikes (T -7, 690), I'd get a small trailer. Cheers :coffee:

Agreed. There are few bikes, other than "dirt" bikes, or small bikes, that wouldn't be overweight with he Bronco tow package. It's got a 350 tongue weight capacity, but if you extend it at all, that goes down. The only bikes that are going to work are sub-300 lbs.

I use a Versahauler, has a 500-lbs capacity, but that's significantly higher than a Wrangler or Bronco would support. So, I use it with my Super Duty and Four Wheel Camper, not a vehicle with a 350 tongue weight limit.
