Limb Riser Suggestions

I built some myself using some hardware from the hardware store and two of these trail sight accessory mounts from TrailRax. The other end connected directly to the TrailRax roof rack itself.

BUT, I just took the roof rack off for the summer so I could run the Bestop Skyrider. So I too am looking for a solution.

I bought a set from Amazon. They included top and bottom brackets. My only issue is that by adding the M&R light bar along with the limb risers I can no longer use the nice painted accessory cover piece until I find a way to extend the studs.

So without the light bar, can you use the limb riser with the painted accessory caps over it?

Yes if you have the lightbar OR the limb risers you can still use the plate. But with both the stud is too short.

I would use Concertina wire. Trim the trail while 4 wheeling. Useful to keep pedestrians off the trail or sidewalk too.

Looking to get some limb risers for my bronco. Ideally I’d like them to be black and was wondering if anyone knew of a set that allows you to put the accessory caps back on (the ones above the windshield).

There are some nice black mounting brackets for the trail sights sold in the BN gear store! I have seem some kits that have black cables and brackets but most seem to have some silver points. Easy enough to paint or have powder coated. Attached below are some above windshield brackets that allow the cap to stay on. I dint like the shape personally but could work for you. If you have or plan a light bar there are also some thay mount to the side of the light bar.

The GearShade risers are pricey compared to the Ebay/Amazon variants but I do like the front quick release brackets. It would be a pain to work around most of the offerings if you needed to get over the side of the fender. I would probably go this route if I decide to get risers.

Yeah, I saw the gearshade ones. While they seem very high quality, I’m really looking for black limb risers as my whole bronco theme is eruption green/black

Most of the ones that I have seen that use the cap in their installation, the caps do not sit flush.


I did find this one, where the caps stay in place the the limb riser runs to the top side of the windshield. Best one yet in my view as it keeps the branches and pedestrians further away from the paint. Though it appears there may be some drilling involved.
