Key fob question

BN,

I've been reading about the key fobs and how criminals are stealing any vehicle with a fob by decoding it. I want to purchase a RFID sleeve for my fob (that I don't have yet) so my Bronco (that I don't have yet) wont disappear.
For those of you who are have your Bronco and key, could someone please measure the fob and let me know the size so I can order the case? They come in 2 sizes and I don't know which one to get.

3"x2.5" for my non remote start bronco key fob. I have manual transmission so even if they clone mine they won't know how to drive the vehicle lol

You will love the manual! I love the feel of the clutch and the shortness of the throw compared the other manual trucks. This one is really easy to drive and I'm 100% happy with the manual transmission.

Slightly off topic, but how does the shift pattern on the manual compare with the rangers/explorers of the late 80’s early 90’s? IMO those were some of the best and most comfortable manual transmissions ever made.

So I just did a search, not sure if the Bronco key would fit, but seems like a nice option if it does. on sale for $40.

I would imagine that for keyless you would constantly have to be putting it into and subsequently taking it out of the case/bag correct? As the same info they would steal is the same info your car uses

One of the easiest things you can do is not have your keys near the garage or in it. Put them in a drawer and away from it. Also, keeping the keys on you and not in a purse or in the car when you’re in it.
Another tip is saying fire than help/police. More people will respond if you say fire than anything else. Crazy..but true

I just received the case's from Amazon and it looked a little small so that's why I asked about the size of the fob.
It was 14.95 for 2. I'm keeping one in the house and one in my purse. If you put it in the sleeve at home, no one can steel the vehicle from your driveway. The one in my purse is for when I'm at Walmart.
I also heard if the fob is close to the vehicle while not running it can drain the battery on both the vehicle and the fob.

I recently read that newer Ford key fobs go into “sleep mode” and stop sending signals if the fob hasn’t been moved in 40-60 seconds. This prevents the skimming you’re talking about. The owner’s manual makes passive mention of fobs not working if they’ve been stationary. I started my own thread asking if anyone can confirm this technology in the Bronco key fob, you may wish to monitor it.

Others gave you the dimensions so I’ll give you an idea of the "real world" size of this thing.! I’m not a fan of this being in my pocket all the time.! Had the keypad installed on mine so the fob stays in console for those quick trips, in 'n out of Dollar General. When I’m parking in the dark, with the Bronco out of my sight, the fob will be on me.!

some say that lg still has some life left on its battery and can be used for a day or two before it needs a charge

That is a SMALL Phone! I miss the days of small phones:( just want to say this picture makes the fob look huge lol I fit the fob and wallet plus work keys in my jean pocket with no issues

A lot of us over 50 love these large phones, can't see the small ones anymore. :ROFLMAO:
With that said, if you have several cars including your significant other, you almost can't even put all these large key fobs in your pocket anymore!
