I swapped in 6 new speakers at all spots (no sub). My early '22 has no subwoofer.
The 6-3/4 with Kicker 51KSC6704
The 4-inch with Kicker KSC40
It vastly improved the base stock audio system for less than $280. Keep in mind a Bronco is a very noisy place with lousey acoustics. I did not want to go down the amp and sub route because of the expense. I just wanted better sound via 2-way speakers that have a decent tweeter.
Adding the Kicker SC-series speakers turned out to be good enough. The stock system has enough power to run aftermarket speakers at a reasonable decibel level. The Bronco has a surprisingly good sound stage and imaging using the stock speaker locations. I did not unblock the bass at the rear roll bar locations. There is a small amount of mid-bass overlay between the kick panel and front dash speakers with my installation that boosts those frequencies, which can be tuned out with bass blockers on the dash speakers.
If you are seeking home-level audio performance, the Bronco is not the automotive venue to start with, IMO. Try just changing the speakers first and evaluate. You can always add an amp later.
