I was wondering if anyone has the center console vault in their bronco and how they like it?
I have a 4dr Badlands SAS, lux, 2.7, tow, soft top, leather, on order. And on the bronco build site when you are building a badlands the center console vault is not shown to select as an option. But on other trims like OBX and Wildtrak It is an option. I was just curious if anyone has it and if it is worth adding aftermarket?

When I ordered my Badlands in early Jan the option for the safe was available.

That is so weird Because I just went on a build configurator for a OBX and found this, telling us what it id and isn't available on But it says nothing about Badlands.
Did you get that option on your bronco?Screen Shot 2022-02-07 at 10.54.28 AM.png

Just went back to the ordering site and found that the safe has been removed as an option. I didn't add it onto my build when I ordered, wasn't something I felt I needed.

A console safe will be available as an after market item . Too many companies making things like this and too much demand not to have them make them. The only issue is how soon and cost.

Suspect that if you wait till summer you will have options for under seat, glove box and console. Key or combination and on the key an option to get multiple safes with the same key.
Waiting to be a Bronco owner got a base model on order. So someday, maybe?

I think its available now. If this is a gotta have item, I would either order it from one of the online dealers, or get it from the dealer I ordered the truck with, either with points/cash or the mythic customer satisfaction funds. Just my $.02

I have one in mine. It cuts down on the usable space a touch, and you can no longer use the organizer trays I've seen. That being said, I love having the lockable storage. The peace of mind for when the top is down is very nice.

Easy to use, 4 digit code. twist turn the knob and the top spring loads open and stays open. You have to push it down and turn the knob to close it. Scramble digits to lock.

I agree with the post above. I installed mine. Took about 10 minutes. Took longer to unpack lol.

Bought it, installed it, removed it, and returned it.
I was excited for this but a few things I didn't like.
The opening was super small and I had to remove my pistol from its holster to put it in.
The metal frame blocked the emergency key fob space.
There is a big lack of storage as it is for phone cords etc. I really missed the console.
and I'm getting old and sitting in the seat I couldn't see the combo numbers well enough to open it with out glasses (clearly a me problem and not a product problem)

I did install the locking drawer in the cargo area and really like that and use that to lock up guns if I need too.

Agree on several of those points. I actually wasn’t aware of the emergency key fob space as mine was already installed before I took mine.

unless you’ve got a very compact, pistol space is super limited. I never really carry mine in the truck so wasn’t an issue for me.

I think with the locking drawee you have a better solution - with a reachable pistol stashed somewhere more accessible, then stashable in the drawer for safe keeping.

Though for the drawer I really wish I could fit a rifle in there. Can’t take out the horizontal slats though.

I just installed my center consul safe yesterday. It was very easy.
1. It DOES NOT limit space, only the opening size. There may be a centimeter or less on each side of the wall sacrificed. I can fit my glock in without difficulty.
2. It DOES NOT block the magic key fob location unless it is installed backwards.

Worth the money? I guess time will tell. I like having keyless entry so being able to lock the keys in a safe while I have the top off is a big plus for me. Additionally, having a safe to keep my pistol so i don’t have to worry about my kids is a nice feature.

So are you saying you can lock the key in the safe and you can’t start it unless the key is out of lock box. This would be a great feature and the only reason I have not jumped on board yet.
Great info

Technically someone could start the car if they broke in yes. I wouldn’t leave the key in with the doors or top off.

If you do, Be sure and tell your insurance adjuster that you did when reporting it borrowed(stolen). That should help them with the claim and your Darwin award nomination.

Thanks for the info, but like my way. Maybe someone can rethink the process of going topless odorless and lifestyle events, and having an onboard safe, keyword (safe)

I’m just sharing information. If you don’t want the safe, don’t buy the safe.
