Obviously not a new accessory—this was one of the first Bronco accessories that were teased in the early Bronco Nation video.

It caught my eye early on, but the some of the first reviews didn't seem overly hot on it, so I held off. Looked at a bunch of other options in the mean time: For awhile I was real excited about American Adventure Lab stuff... but whew that stuff is pricey. Saw a few @B MIller videos with his cargo security drawer, but I didn't necessarily want to have that drawer in my Bronco 24/7 and reducing the "everyday usefulness" of the Bronco. The Bronco for me is more of an occasional adventure vehicle and less of a dedicated overlanding vehicle, so I have commitment issues. 😉

SO... I waited for Ford's typical holiday 30% off coupon code and finally pulled the trigger on the slide-out tailgate. Super happy with it so far. And as a huge bonus... Ford rates it at 600 lbs, which means I can easily stand on it and access gear on TrailRax roof rack without having to carry a step ladder.

Available via Ford Accessories.

Thanks for the video and photos.. It's a shame there is nothing for the 2DR as I'd probably buy one if there was..

Yeah there's not a lot of options for the 2-door—both from Ford's official accessories and aftermarket.

I had assumed originally the slide-out tailgate would fill up the entire rear of the 4-door Bronco. But, it doesn't—when it's pushed all the way in there is a good 7-8" gap in the frame. So just visually it looks like if they made a smaller frame it would fit in the 2-door, but maybe not—no idea how much room is in the back of the 2-door.

Looks very useful.. I'd buy it if they ever make a 2dr version but something tells me that's not going to happen or they would have already done so...

Rather than supporting the 2dr they will probably drop it because it doesn't sell 1.1 million units a year.
I have a pull out (2 dr only) already designed so you can sleep in the back if you lose the rear seat. Its never going to make it to market.

Thanks for this video!. You've piqued my interest in this slide-out. Like how it levels out the cargo area with the seats down (I'm short enough to sleep in the Bronco). Too bad I missed the holiday discount...
