Hey guys,

I've been trolling for a while. Awaiting my built badlands squatch, and we're now in the 4th delivery window change/update. Fingers crossed for delivery in January. I've been waiting since summer of 2020, so another few weeks won't likely kill me.

My first mod will be to wire my radar detector either to the mirror or an aux switch.

I searched on here to see if anyone has done it, and I didn't find anything. There are some comments about wiring usb dash cams, which are helpful, but not exactly what I'm looking for. There are a notes about this on other non-BN forums, but I'm not going to join them when the real experts are here.

Any thoughts / pics / advice on this>\?

Thanks.

I have been using the Uniden R3 for a couple years now. Had a detector back in early 90s but the new R3 is a whole different ballgame. It was a learning curve watching YouTube videos and reading detector forums on correct programming. Once you put in a few hours figuring it out, it is awesome. 90% of the trash/false signals are filtered out. If I get a KA band in mid 30's, I know it's the real deal. I have it programmed for my area in city mode, and HWY mode for travel. I have it mounted right up next to rear view mirror post in the center and tapped into mirror. The Uniden R3 along with Waze on trips keep me safe. On long straights I can catch a signal 3 to four miles ahead.

Escort Redline. I used their suction mount positioned at the top of the windshield on the passenger side of the mirror using a mirror tap. It’s great! Easy to take on and off, visible. I use the escort app for control when needed which is infrequent.

I never go over the speed limit, so I don't need it. (ya right!) 😁
