For those who have installed a GMRS (or Ham or CB) antenna on the “accessory ready” mirror cowl location, what mount did you use?

@1Five1 Garage - If you went with a 4" light instead of the 6", do you think there is enough room to mount an antenna on the body guard bracket?

You might be able to... the slots for the light placement are for multiple sets... put the light on the inner one and the antenna mount on the outer.

I haven't installed one.. just showing the bracket as a mount option for the antenna.

I’m just going to leave this alone…

If you look at the communication section topic, think there was at least 1 picture of a member setting up their CB

I got the Woxun 1000G 50w radio due to it having a removable face plate. I plan to install the radio body in the center console and put the faceplate on the BYOD rail. Currently looking for a clean antenna mount for the mirror cowl tho.

Hoping to find an answer as I’ve searched quite a bit of similar threads with no luck finding a more “definitive”answer.

Thinking about using the JCROffroad ditch light mount, however I will not be mounting any lights, just the gmrs antenna. I know from their website they also mentioned that I may have to scrub off some of the powder coating to get a good ground.

I’m wondering if by itself on that mount if there will still be a lot of RFI or if that is even a safe place to mount. Any thoughts on this set up is great appreciated.

I’ll be doing the same as you. If you don’t plant to put a pod light next to it, it will be better, however the A pillar is still going to block some signal. Even with a slight loss of signal strength, the 50w radio I plan to use will fit my needs.

Thanks. Appreciate the feedback. Yeah I was anticipating some “blockage” with the A-pillar but figure it would make for a clean set up. I’ll be running the MXT275 but will eventually switch out to the Wouxun 1000. Thanks again.
