The need for extra support when adding a winch is pretty well known by now so I won't get into that. I had to discontinue my original kit due to cost and labor on my end.

Nobody has really stepped up with a comparable product, you have the Lobo brace which is very nice but at a much higher cost, then at the bottom you have ADD and LOD, decent products with some drawbacks.

I don't plan on bringing back the original kits but I'm thinking about a light version. It will just be the inner plates and associated hardware. Those are the ones that take the direct load from a winch plate. They will still cup the frame bottom to prevent rotation and be made of 1/4" steel.

If I do this I will open a pre-order for the first 20 sets at $149.99 with deliveries expected in 1-2 months. They will go to $179.99 after that first run.

Is anyone interested?

I would . I have the mount from Broaddict. Would that need to be disassembled to install these plates or would they bolt on as it sits ? I'm old and getting more lazy by the minute so hopefully you answer accordingly :)

They fit between the intercooler and frame, the bumper and skid will have to come off to get in there.

You S.O.B.! I've been bugging you for months and just got my LOD brackets in yesterday! 😡

Your brackets did look pretty sweet though. I'll keep this in mind.

I bought your original and they were fantastic. Can you post photos or drawings to compare the new version against the original?

😕 Sorry! 😬

They will be identical, just skipping the outer brackets. Plus a few minor hardware changes like threaded backer plate instead of welded bungs.

I'd be interested. I am always looking for solutions that fix weak spots before they fail on the trail.

I would be interested; I’ve been looking into a high mount winch plate after getting big stuck and I want to look after the frame horns.

That sounds like a solid plan! I remember when I was setting up my winch a couple of years ago, I ran into similar issues. I tried a few different braces, and while they all had their pros and cons, nothing really hit the mark for me. I ended up improvising a bit, but it was a lot of work. Your idea for a light version focusing on the inner plates and hardware seems like a great solution. Count me in for a pre-order! I’m definitely interested in giving this a try. I also recently upgraded my truck’s horn with a train horn kit from bosshorn.com. It was a game-changer for me, super loud and definitely got me out of a few tight spots.

What are the drawbacks for the ADD product? I bought them, but haven't put them on yet.

Might be interested in what you're proposing.

@Tricky Dick is there a list or a place to order? Or are you just gauging interest at this point?

They don't have enough rotational support for my liking. Good for low mount winch trays but high mount like the rough country is going to put more rotational leverage on them.

It was more for gauging interest. However, after posting I found the Metal Tech offering and scrapping this idea and recommending them for everyone.
