Cracked and broken roof rack torque tool

Has anyone else had this tool break? It wasn't dropped, it wasn't used on anything besides the roof rack. I've had the rack off/on probably 4 times in the last 18 months. Certainly didn't over-torque it, since it's rated 2Nm.

Anyway, looks like a defect to me. Called my local dealer, and they checked - Ford has no warranty on accessories, and this tool is considered an accessory (even though it came with the vehicle).

Sure looks like MIM failure strikes again. Haven't seen that shape special driver, wonder if a small socket would work?..

Cheers

Yeah, looks like a void in the MIM to me.

I think I have a socket that would work, but it's the 2 newton-meter torque setting. I don't want to keep a small torque wrench in the kit. Way too easy to over torque going by feel.
