Hello Everyone, looking for some assistance here. I have a Badlands with Sasquatch package. I have a pretty bad Blizzard about to come through where I’m headed. They recommended to have chains or cables. The owners manual doesn’t really mention what to use for my setup. Are chains required? Will cables work? Back tires? Front tires? All tires? Any assistance e will be awesome. Thank you

I can say I've ever put chains on any of my 4x4 for any blizzards here in CO. 4x4 will get you out of the chain restrictions (or at least in CO) but if you put them on you want them on all tires that have power so, all 4 then.

luv the snow sports try to run the studded tires November 15 to April 15. Initial investment not cheap but they work well.

Just had my first time with the new Bronco in snow. I am pretty pleased with the sasquatch tires so far in the snow and ice. There is no need for chains or cables with your setup unless you plan to do a tone of winter off-roading in mud and snow or you plan to put a plow on the front. Chains (not cables) can help in those situations but if you are talking about city streets and highways you won't need them even with a few feet of snow. 20+ years of living in high snow country and I have never installed chains on my daily driver in the deepest of storms.

If you insist on buying anything stick with quality chains and put them on the rear wheels.

Recommendation on chains or cables?
I honestly have never owned any and the only time I used a pair was once in my 20 years on the ambulance because ADMIN thought it was a good idea and then we were maxed out at about 30mph. Real fun running emergent to a call and later that day I got stuck. Never got stuck without chains LOL

When I lived in Tahoe I swapped out my rims and tires for the winter with studded snow tires. If I was in snow country I would get some base rim take offs and mount snow tires for the winter

I live in a steep canyon in the Southern California Mountains, have always had a full size 4WD and have alway's had to chain up when we went into black ice conditions as nothing stops you in black ice but chains. Real steel chains, with ice cleats as added insurance are the way to go and until my new Outer Banks with Sasquatch Package I would have put the chains on the front end but after putting on RokBlokz heavy duty mud flaps I can see there is no room for chains on the front with the 35's.

Chains or Cables, it's really up to you. If you live in mountain areas then you would want to have chains or cables in your vehicle and be considered recovery gear. They only help to get you unstuck on paved roads. They won't work offroad as they rely on there being a hard surface to grab against.
Ground clearance is the key. Chains allow a vehicle that is rubbing its belly on the snow the ability to pull the vehicle across the snow. Look at how much snow is expected and your ground clearance. If you are above the expected snow fall you should be ok. If it might drift higher, you could find chains helpful. Chains are not for high speed driving. Essentially just for use to get through a section that you otherwise wouldn't be able to.
