Braptor gets a Warn winch from Ford Performance

So with the recent lower price on a Warn winch via the Ford Accessory website and a 20% off promotion, I couldn’t resist adding a winch.

I wasn’t sure if it would fit the Raptor but, since it’s a Mod bumper, i rolled the bones & thankfully, it bolted right up. Installation was very straightforward and no big gotchas. A 2nd set of hands would have been useful since this thing is beefy and weighs a bit.

Hopefully, I’ll never need to use but I am sure it will come in handy if needed. 👍🏼

Thank you @Kenneth
The front camera is operational just slightly obstructed - I will determine if I want/need to relocate it once I got some real life use to influence my decision and same with the front parking sensors (I have them disabled). No ACC on the Braptor - I am a bit of a control freak and it’s not my thing.

Your rig looks pretty awesome. A smart addition to an already exceedingly capable vehicle, sir! Are you going to get one of those bags to protect the housing/drive and cable spool?

I wanted to take measurements before & after installation but in my excitement to get it all mounted up, I totally forgot. I am sure there is some droop due to the extra weight but it’s negligible.

Nice setup, I Just order the Xbull XRS winch and IAG mount. Last event if I had the front winch it will save me lots of time for a climb 😅

Where are you in NY? I am in great neck Long Island, We should meet up and take some pictures together

When I added a 12K synthetic line winch and winch plate to the front of my non Raptor it gave me about 1/2" to 3/4" of additional drop / rake to the front. I didn't measure, just eyeballed it.

I assume the Ford kit adds 100+ pounds to the front. Maybe the Raptor has stiffer springs that reduce the amount?

That's true enough, but I think we can all agree that there are mods that simply protect our investment. That is one of them. The Raptor is an incredible machine. I test drove one at the Seattle International Auto Show a couple of years ago. It was incredible. The footing, the height, and the general feel of it are vastly different from the other variants.

Which of the IAG mounts did you go with? I really like the new one that raises it up a little higher and towards the grille slightly.

Excellent choice! I really like the new version! After seeing the new and improved one I am really considering the addition. They have really addressed a lot of issues, IE: camera, sensors and tow points. Any chance you could post some pics?

Thanks! Snagged a hundred photos of one at an aviation museum in Virginia recently. I’m a huge plane geek. 🥰

I owned a Harley V-Rod and bought a set of tins with a similar war bird motif. I missed that bike so much, I bought another one and sadly sold it too.

You should join Tri-State Broncos - great group of folks and they are a pretty active group with at least 1 ride/month.

Compared to my very capable (former) Badlands, the Raptor is like cheating off-road. The only downside it’s its size. There are some narrow trails that don’t easily accommodate (so I carry a Milwaukee chainsaw just in case - LOL). Tread lightly is a challenge for sure!

It is at least 100# perhaps even closer to 150# all in. The suspension package on the Raptor is totally different than the standard Broncos. It’s not my DD so I don’t really mind the extra weight.

It has a bit of rake but not terrible and it doesn’t bother me (YET).
