Not sure where to put this but does anyone know someone who teaches winch classes in northwest Ohio?

Although not in Ohio, I would assume you're not all that far from Holly Oaks north of Detroit. @alyd09 , @Mattwings or @MIRunner might know of a group that does that sort of thing.

Do you have any local 4x4 groups in your area? If you do, maybe join a few. I'd bet that most groups have a few members who are 4x4 and recovery studs / stud'ettes..

Also, maybe check out some YouTube recovery / winching videos..

When I 1st started off-roading I knew absolutely nothing. I joined a local Jeep group and there were several members that taught me / showed me the way..

I know it would be a trek for you. But every spring Merus does an Adventure- her event all/mostly Female event and they put on a recovery class. It’s a pretty cool event. Even as just a passenger while my wife did the driving. By the end she was doing blue/black trails. https://merusadventure.com/events/adventureher/

We occasionally do something at Holly Oaks off road park, it’s a couple of hours north. Dec. 7th the Great Lakes 4wd Association is doing a free 101 class at Rocks and Valleys off road park. I’m not sure about anything specific to NW OH.

The recovery class that I took last year, is no longer doing classes as he retired. However, I have seen events posted on Facebook from time to time on it. Sometimes there are events by Warn or other companies as well. I definitely want to get more training in as well.
