Winch Mounting?

Anybody (other than Ford) make a winch mounting solution for the Modular bumper?

The JCROffroad winch plate uses the Modular bumper and has provisions for relocating the front camera (along with the camera washer) and lists a kit to relocate the Adaptive Cruse Control module. The Ford kit costs much more and it interferes with the camera. The JCR kit is the only aftermarket vendor I've seen that allows this. (y)

If I ever get my WT with tow will have a portable winch plate to mount winch below the spare[have this setup that I use with my PU's]Have heavy cables + clamps for Batt + winch.99% of the time don't need a winch.Have 100 ft synthetic rope to help stuck people.Have winch on 88 YJ that have seldom used.

I’m waiting on Rough Country to come out with a version of their Hidden Winch for the Mod Bumper. At least one guy has already modified it himself to make it fit, but it involves welding.

I just installed the JCR Offroad winch plate today and have a few things to do to finish. I have the Badland Apex 12,000 lb winch to put on there. For the price, I think it is a great place to start. Can always come back and install a different winch in its place. Can't wait to try it out!

Been looking at the Warn Elite Bumper. Will block the ACC radar.

The smitty XRC winch works great with 4WP bumper. No ACC and no front cam on mine.

I have the Ford production Warn mount. I recently bought JCR Offroad's front trail cam relocate kit. My initial intention was to mount their bracket to the winch’s fairlead, and make a couple bends to achieve the camera plate perfect vertical. It would’ve worked, but I’d have to re-powder coat, plus the camera would have no protection.

My solution was to cut off the outboard ears of the bracket, see mock-up in bottom picture below. The third picture show the completed bracket. Next, I marked the Ford tube where the bracket has two existing slotted holes. I drilled holes in the tube, and fastened the bracket. The slotted bracket holes are perfect for any aligning needed, and the tube protrudes outboard to protect the camera. Speaking of the camera, it’s service part number is M2DZ-19G490-C, but is on national backorder.

To the best of my knowledge, no one has produced to kit to relocate the camera on the Ford Warn package. JCR Offroad seems a really good company, so I shared with them what I did.

ASFIR has a winch mount for the Mod bumper. It looks like it will work with the parking sensors and with Adaptive Cruse. The pics show the camera relocated to the top of the grill. This appears to be a better solution that the 3.5k Warn winch and plate from Ford.

That ASFIR winch mount has no protection for the winch itself. The front parking sensors can be turned off, like who needs them anyhow. And the adaptive cruise control remains blocked. The front tail cam relocate looks like a hack. And with the mount, the bumper is quoted to be extended forward by 4 -inches. No thanks...

I don't believe the adaptive cruise is blocked as it looks like it was in the same position as before. I do agree with you about the front camera though. I really don't like it much.

And it is installed crooked. Maybe a small bracket to hold the camera would make it look and or be more secure?

Yeah, I stand corrected on the ACC mount, thx. (I find it compelling that most of the winch mounting kits, including Ford, don't include a side view of the mount.)
