Pod & Bumper Lights (went cheap)

So yes, it can be done. Not everyone wants to drop $400 on lights. And to be honest, my bumper lights work just fine. The lights I put on the pods are for show. If I go off road, it will be once or twice a year, and I doubt I'll need the lights to do it.

Anyways, here are links to what I got.

Pod:
I picked these for the amber "X" (there is my "for looks" part)

Bumper:
These were cheap and face mount. For the Base bumper I had to pop off the plastic pieces where the fogs go for the BB. Marked where I needed to cut out and used a Dremel to make the cuts. Wiring for both were simple due to the fact that I have the aux switches in my build.

If you want something fancier, ask @1Five1 Garage, I know they did a video on installing KC's for pod lights. I just posted to show what I did, and what was cheap (and easy). I'll see how these lights hold up after a year or more.

I like those round ones, makes me wonder if they are too bright to safely tie the amber into the parking lights or turn signals. Think I’ll have to order a pair for some testing on my old beat up Chevy truck worst case if I hate them can put ‘em on the back bumper of the truck for extra reverse lights. If I like ‘em I’ll stash until the bronco gets here.

My initial thought was to tie them into the turn signals.

Only thing that stopped us was it was cold that day and didn't want to get too involved in trying to find the right wire to splice into. That may still happen when it gets warmer out.

Edit: Lights do have 3 wires. (ground, white led, amber led). So it should be simple enough to do. But if you've looked at that mess under the hood, you'd understand why I'm waiting for warmer temps to take a shot at it.

They look good. It is a great alternative to paying an arm and a leg for some.

Yes we put KC lights on the Big Bend. I have experience with them and that is the only reason why.

KC's are great. I used to run them (and the Speaker Lites) on my old '84 Bronco. I miss that truck.
