Searched the forum but didn't see a lot of info on vinyl decals other than brands to consider. I've never done them on a vehicle. Are there downsides? Are they durable? Do they last? Will they peel? Do they harm the paint? Thanks for any help!

1. No real downside, but you should think of them as permanent (see point 5)
2. Depends on the brand, quality, and thickness
3. Depending on the brand and quality, they can last from 5-7 yrs in the elements, longer if garaged.
4. When they hit the end of their life, than can start to peel and crack. At that point, remove, clean any adhesive and re-apply
5. They do not harm the paint. In fact it protects the paint. If you were to remove vinyl stripes after 4-5 years, you would notice the paint under the stripes as being perfect, but the paint outside the stripes would show natural wear and fading

Regarding point 2, any recommendations on brand, thickness, etc.?

I am a fan of 3M vinyls for use on vehicles. There are HUGE differences in quality, adhesive properties, construction and durability.

I strongly suggest looking up @Broncitis or Drew Peroni on Facebook. he has been making original oem (or as close to as you can get for 66-77 Broncos) and has made a set of special decor striped for the 6th gen. I have used both his Ranger stripes as well as his Special Decor stripes on 2 of my EB's. I will be getting his decor stripe on my 6th gen. I have seen at least 2 others offer stripes. Both are pop up vendors with no understanding, or loyalty to the Bronco brand that Drew has.

FWIW.

Installed a few months ago. Love it! No concerns with durability, get it dirty, cleans easy… this is about mid of Hells Revenge….
