Anyone have real world experience with the HF Apex 12k Winch?

Looking at winches. I am seeing lots of positive reviews(and a couple negative) for the Harbor Freight Apex 12k winch. But I have not found much discussion here on them.

Any Bronco owners have them on their set ups?

Thats the route I took - I like it so far - controller does fit under the hood with a bit of finesse - but it does fit in there.

Not the APEX but their 12k badlands winch I ran on my truck and used it a handful of times each year and lasted up until I sold the truck last year. That was also sitting outside 24/7 in northern climate and never failed on me. Used it in 90+ degree days and as low as 11°F when I got stuck in the snow

Good to know. I am thinking either the Apex or the Rough Country. Thanks for the input.

Putting a winch on a Bronco has been next to impossible, so you wouldnt get many responses here. Much better to ask on a Jeep site where it's more likely people have been using these.

I have the Apex 12k winch with the JCR winch plate on my Badlands and have used it several times. Most of the uses have been home-related (removing bushes, repairing fences, pulling an engine out of a truck bed 😂 ) but I was able to use it on Black Bear Pass pulling the backend of a full-size truck around on a switchback it was stuck on. So far, so good. Its biggest workout was pulling on a bush horizontally (would have been much easier to pull vertically if I had the rigging.) The winch dragged my Bronco and an F150 tethered to me (both in neutral, parking brakes on, and holding brake pedal) on a concrete surface!
