Hi! I just bought a 2021 Bronco Outer Banks. 2.7L with the lux package. Unfortunately, it didn't come with the tow package and I'd like to tow a small camper. When searching the googles for tow weight for aftermarket, I get a range from 1,500 - 2,500 pounds which is a huge difference. can someone provide a more accurate tow weight from experience? Also would you recommend dealer or home install?

I purchased the Ford tow hitch (Base doesn't come with tow). I'm rated for 3500 pounds.
I don't know why you are seeing such low numbers when you search. Nothing different than where the Ford hitch installs. As long as it's Class III made for Bronco you'll get 2" receiver and 3500 lb. capacity.
Unless someone proves me wrong.

I tend to agree, but not an expert on this topic. I had to drop the tow package to get my bronco built. Reluctantly I did just that. Once I dropped it the Wildtrak when into production a week later. When I received the bronco, I drove it across the street and had a hitch installed, rated at 3500 lbs. The only difference that I know of between the factory hitch and after market hitch is a 7-pin wiring harness verses 4-pin. At 3500 lb. capacity, the 4-pin harness works fine for me; no trailer brakes, no backup lights, so no issues for me. The aftermarket works for me.

I added the Nilight hitch and the curt wiring harness. Pretty easy install my trailer is less than 2000 lbs. IIRC buckle up buttercup cup has some videos of them pulling a pretty large trailer every bit of 3500lbs and doing it with the 2.3l.

In some states you have to have a trail brake at a certain capacity. Not an issue wheee I live since the capacity is well over 3500

Yeah you should be good just watch your following distance and you will be fine. Oh and here is a pick of the aftermarket hitch. Also I did add an extension so the hitch coupler clears the spare tire. They make an extended hitch but that just lowers your departure angle this way I can remove it when crawling. I will probably add the receiver skid plate when playing In The rocks
