So I have not yet taken possession of my 2d Bronco. (no news there) But like many of you have been wanting to delete the rear seats and take advantage of the extra space and then create a false floor to cover the bolts that will stick out as well as hide the spots where the carpet is cut away.
This leads me to an interesting thought. What do I do when I want to put an item in the back that could become damaged by wind. For instance, Im out at work, sunny day top off and feel like its a great day to bring home flowers for the wife. Choice 1, tell her I thought of her and dont get the flowers or choice 2, get the flowers and return home with stems because the wind obliterated the flowers. just saying this is the hypothetical not the reality, ask my wife how often she gets flowers. shame on me. anyway. So, I figured what about a tonneau cover like they have for the 4d model. Only it needs to be covering over the spot where the seats are no longer there and it would be even better if there was a backstop wall behind the front seats. Of course this would all have to allow for access from the side of the vehicle as well as when you open the rear door. Effectivly this is like the metal cargo box they have for the 4d but its intent is to treat a 2d rear seat delete like the bed of a truck.
I have a concept floating around on how to build this and take advantage of some of the natural bolt holes already in the body but cannot be sure until I get my hands on it. I was wondering, would anyone else be interested in this? Has anyone seen this from a company? Did I just give away a million dollar idea to those with fab shops??
