I know I may be dreaming big but I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to add a sliding glass window to the hardtop side glass. (Like the sliding windows some pickup trucks have). My large dog rides back there & loves having wind on him, I think he would enjoy it! πŸ˜„ (mainly for the days I cant take the top off πŸ˜†)Has anyone else done this or know of a companay that could?
Thanks!

Excellent question! I'm sure there's a niche market for something like that. I think the modular tops are supposed to have removable windows, but I don't think sliding windows are an option (yet).
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

Just like an International Scout had. I like that idea, especially for the 2 door.

I love this idea. I'm not sure how many of you have traveled at highway speeds with the front panels off. Honestly, not too enjoyable with all the wind buffeting. It seems to be much better with the front and middle panels off. I'm just wondering if you had the ability to slide open the rear windows, if the air wouldn't flow through the cabin better which would mean less buffeting. Not sure.

There is a company that makes a hatch door to replace the rear window. If you get one on each side they call it a full wing or something like that. I bet they could make you something, I bet it might be a good option for us big dog folks. Lemme look to see if I can find his card.

Edit: found it they are a Texas base company and the build quality is really nice. https://offroadalliance.com/Velox-B...KIKuEyY7DVnY9ypfb6gBtHhx4oh3fG5RoCguIQAvD_BwE

First question: is there enough room in the door for it? Has anyone looked?

Or even a quick removal window. I have seen Jeeps ride with their rear window up. Not sure how strong/durable the rear struts are but you could probably run at city speeds no problem. You could always swap them for more premium struts.

I'd be willing to be that is exactly what would happen. Back to my above, I think that is why I will sometimes see rear windows up on Jeeps - it is when they have their front panels off for the air flow.

Got me thinking about the buffeting issue on 2 dr with front panels off, what about a replacement glass with a sliding glass panel like the rear window on a fancy pickup truck. My first thought was a sunroof on the back but it’s not flat. Maybe ford could incorporate a vent in the rear somewhere. Oh hell, I’ll just crank the radio up louder and save some coin.

Thank you! I will take a look here :) I sometimes lay down the rear seats so he can put his head out of the back passenger window, but when I have the kiddos in the back seat poor boy looses the window to them lol

I actually saw of mock up of a sliding side glass early on that Ford was playing with.
I wish I could find it.
It was in 2020 around the same time they were posting pics of the doors with the holes in them.

It looked similar to this style.
The pic is for first Gen Broncos.

But sure remember a pic of an early 2020 prototype with side windows similar.

I too believe that it can be done. Great idea! I had an IH Scout in the 80s with sliding windows. I would love to see a repeat!
