I have been told the wiring harnesses offered for the Bronco are only for LED taillights. I have ordered a BB with standard taillights. One, is that info true? 2, is there a another option?

The Curt 4 pin wiring harness p/n 56434 can be used with the LED or non-LED tail lights. For the non-LED lights, you will need to clip 1 wire & ground it - this requirement is detailed in the instruction manual.

If you get the trailer tow package you will get:
  • 4-pin — Turn signals, brake lights, reverse lights
  • 7-pin — Turn signals, brake lights, reverse lights, auxiliary power
    • Most notably it does not include a trailer brake controller
If you go with the dealer-installed option (or if you do DIY) you will only get the 4-pin connector, and it works with both the halogen and the LED taillights. However, the installation process different depending on which taillights you have.

Or you can do a 3rd party option (like @Bschurr mentioned).

Thanks!
I just did mine the other week. Relatively easy to be honest if you do the 4 pin yourself. I used the Ford accessories one with some points I had. Took my time cause I didn’t want to break anything and it was about four hours total with some breaks.

Definitely get the tow package. It's well worth the extra $$!

Unfortunately, I removed it for quicker delivery and dealer would not add back. So this is where I am at!

At the risk of being a pain, I would push back on the dealer

I removed mine and got a build date right away.I installed the hitch and the 4/7 pin connector along with the TowPro Brake controller. If you are going to install the controller there is an easy way to do it. Instead of taking the console apart, install the controller in the headlight switch panel. The Connector is right below next to the gas pedal. You need to run a hot wire and a brake wire back to the trailer plug. Instead of tearing up the interior, I fish-taped both wires through the left side frame from front to back. It's an easy pull and this way you avoid taking all the interior apart.
