Anyone using the garmin Inreach Messenger, or InReach Mini or InReach Mini 2? Are you happey with it for off grid coms? Know of a good place to get a deal on 5 of them at once?

Garmin InReach Mini 2 user.

  • Love it. I turn it on, use the App on my iPhone, and forget about.
  • You can subscribe to the plans on a monthly basis, if you'd like, so you aren't subscribed when you might not have an adventure planned for a couple of months (e.g., I don't like winter. I don't turn on the subscription in Jan or Feb).
  • It works in canyons, mountains, and dense forests (and combinations of those).
  • Works great for checking in.
  • Never had to use the Emergency Response feature (thankfully). But, I like the piece of mind.
  • No idea on where to find a deal. I can only tell you, "Not Costco," because I used the app and searched it and the Costco app came up with bupkis.
