Bronco fans have flocked to Buena Vista all week long for their chance to get a look at the 2021 Ford Bronco, and they have not been disappointed. Super Celebration West attendees have been overwhelmingly enthusiastic about the Badlands Bronco on display and are excited for what is still to come. Bronco Nation spoke with a few of the attendees to get their opinion of the new Bronco.
Some have travelled a great distance to see the Bronco, like J.T. Rose, who flew in from Tennessee. “It is everything I have been waiting for,” said Rose, who currently has a reservation for a 4-Door Black Diamond but plans to upgrade to a Badlands. He is excited for features like the Sta-Bar disconnect, wash out interior, high package, and pull-out tailgate. Brian and Mickey Moore and their daughters, Kayla and Alayah, each have a classic Bronco (‘74, ’73, ’77, and ’73 respectively), but they plan to add a 2021 Bronco to their stable. They made the trip from North Carolina to see the future member of their Bronco family. They have not decided on which model, but they know it will have the Sasquatch package so they can off-road together, while enjoying the Broncos comfortable and stylish interior.
For others, the new Bronco looked different in person compared to the photos they had seen online. “I was worried it would look too small on 33’s,” said Matt Wixo from Colorado, “but it is the right size – not too small, not too big.” Wixo has a reservation for a 4-Door Badlands, and the factory installed front locker was a big selling point for him to switch from his FJ Cruiser to the Bronco. His young son, Tucker, looks forward to going on camping trips with his father in the new Bronco. Chris Tew, who made the journey from Utah with his sons, thought the flares were too big from the pictures he had seen, but after seeing them in person, he thinks they look great. Chris plans to get a 4-door Badlands or Black Diamond, and his sons cannot wait to ride in it with the top and doors off. Chris cannot wait to get out of his Prius and into his new Bronco. Some attendees were impressed by the Bronco overall after seeing it, but they still had concerns about the durability of the independent front suspension and are holding off until they learn more.
Certain attendees were so impressed by the new Bronco, that it is causing them to break their own rules. “I never buy vehicles brand new, but I’d jump in on this one,” Keith Tardiff, owner of a ’75 Bronco, told Bronco Nation. Tom Felix of Colorado Springs, CO also told himself he would never buy a brand-new vehicle again, but the new Bronco is the exception. “Ford spent a great deal of time getting the new Bronco just right, and they hit a home run,” says Felix. Felix, who has been a Bronco owner for 30+ years and currently owns a ’71 and ’76 Bronco, also admires the retro-inspired details of the new Bronco, such as the headlights, grill, and body line on the side. He looks forward to having a ’21 Bronco alongside his classic Broncos.
Craig Anderson from Salt Lake City, UT, got his first Bronco at 16 years old and has owned Broncos ever since. When his son, Jordan, turned 16, Craig gifted him his first Bronco – a 1996 model. As a family of Bronco fans, the Andersons were thrilled to see the Bronco make its return as an elite and true off-road vehicle. Extended family included, they currently have 6 reservations for new Broncos.
Whether lifelong Bronco fans or first-time owners, the new Bronco has drawn fans of all kinds. Its promise of adventure has many eagerly anticipating the day they can finally get behind the wheel and hit the trails and open roads.
