The reveal of the all new Bronco has introduced us to a whole family of Broncos, and while many are excited for the 2 and 4-door models, getting a closer look at the Bronco Sport has shown that this vehicle will have no problem holding its own in the family. While the 2 and 4-door expertly place “everywhere you want to go anytime you want to get there” as their priority, the Sport seems to just as expertly place “anywhere you want to get to and everything you need to bring” as its priority. This is a smart approach to reach a significant segment of people, including myself, and there are a few reasons why I am excited for what Ford has done with the Sport.
1. The Sport has been built with Bronco’s signature 4x4 off-road capability and has tested this capability on a variety of terrains.
Pair that with Ford trail technologies such as G.O.A.T. ModesTM, Trail ControlTM, and Rock Mode, and you get a vehicle with convincing capability. This plus the cargo space and gear storage features will hold special appeal to people like myself who spend most of their week at the office or out and about town, but in their free time and on weekends like to take a break from it all by biking, kayaking, going for a run, or any outdoor activity that helps them unwind.
2. The vehicle has taken the novice (and even wishful) off-roader into consideration.
I have never considered off-roading a viable hobby because I need a vehicle suited for my everyday lifestyle, and I am not interested in making the investment in a vehicle with off-road capability. The Sport seems to have taken both of those factors into consideration, which may open up a whole new avenue of adventure for people who never saw themselves as off-roaders before.
3. The Sport has been designed with an emphasis on how people will use it for a variety of lifestyles.
Details like liftgate LED floodlamps, a slide out working table, zippered seatback pockets for additional storage, and even a built-in bottle opener speak to the fact that Ford thought through every detail of what life is like in the outdoors, and how a well-designed vehicle can deliver for that lifestyle. Ford will also offer four lifestyle accessory bundles themed Bike, Snow, Water, and Camping. Based on the details they included when designing this vehicle, I cannot wait to see what they include in these bundles.
If this vehicle delivers on everything promised, I think Ford has hit a home run for a segment of adventure ready individuals, and I cannot wait to get my hands on one to try out!
