I picked this nite up from a buddy this summer, now that my main projects are out of the way I drug it into the shop. It needs the 5spd installed and some front seats for starters, I also found coolant in the oil so probably intake gaskets as well. It came with a new flywheel and clutch (improperly installed) and the transmission was partially disassembled. I sourced a used 5 spd to install.

I also picked up a Marti report to confirm the factory manual transmission

Pulled the intake yesterday and tried cleaning off all the baked on oil, engine degreaser doesn't work well at 20° though 😅 I put the lower intake back on tonight. 20241213_182708.jpg
I also got both shifters installed last night. Still trying to source the correct front seats though. Pay no attention to all the random wires hanging out everywhere 🤣20241212_214812.jpg

Engine is back together and no leaks on the cooling system! I put in new oil and a filter, only thing left before I can start it is bleed the clutch. I still need to fill the trans and tcase.20241214_224427.jpg

Got it started, runs pretty good but the starter won't disengage. I filled everything with fluids, still need to finish bleeding the clutch before I try to drive it.

Freed up the original starter and put it back in, now it works properly! Put it in 1st and 2nd while it was up in the air to get fluid moving. Tomorrow I'll flush the cooling system and put some fresh gas in it.

When i bought my shop, I was surprised that Marti Auto Works is our neighbor. Directions to our shop include look for the big blue building (marti).
That's quite the project you have there. Will it be a restoration or get it going and use it?
I am amazed at the attention my 93 gets

It won't be a full resto, I don't have the funds for that and the return wouldn't be worth it up here. I'll probably just turn it into a solid driver and maybe keep it for the kids to learn to drive a manual.

Started flushing the cooling system last night and gave it a bath. Cleans up pretty nice! I still need to run a clay bar over it then buff it so it actually looks this good.20241218_193619.jpg

It looks great. As much as I was into bronco shopping back then I don't recall a night trim. I had to go dig up a brochure i had (for 1992) to look.
Thought you might get a kick out of this.

Back then I darn sure couldn't afford one. I went to the dealer, road tested one and got the brochure. Picked out my options, those are my pen markings.
Then hung it on the wall over my desk where I paid my bills.
I did this for several years. Until the the day came that I bought it. And still have it.

The bronco dream kept me focused on doing what I needed to do to get out of a financial hole. Career changes, etc. it made me make better decisions.

Looking back, I wish I was focused on a Gulf stream jet.
