Hello! We have a 1987 Eddie Bauer Edition, and have run into a smog problem. There is a Check Engine "space" in the dash board, but no Check Engine light. Our smogger said we have to prove that this model did not have a Check Engine light, since they used the same dash for all models. This was not an issue before, but now many places are not smogging pre 1999 cars (so the place who did it before cannot smog it). I have tried calling the Ford Motor Company who was no help at all. Has anyone else run into this, and how did you get "proof" to show the smogger? Thank you!
