Hi everyone, I'm new here and I would like to ask you about your license plates frames (specially in CA, since you do need the front license plate).

I got the new bronco with the plastic bumper, I don't want to drill any holes on the car, so I'm buying this bracket to get the license plate on the Bronco without drilling anything:

https://builtrightind.com/products/...-ford-bronco-2021-for-standard-plastic-bumper
Problem is, I also want to add this nudge bar:

https://www.roughcountry.com/ford-bronconudge-bar-51100c.html?find=2022-ford-bronco-4wd-856075
And I think I will have to mount it on the same bolt as the license plate bracket.

Any ideas of how to pull this off?

Thank you for helping the new man here and I look forward to be part of the bronco community.

I dont live in cali, but I like this idea.

There are a lot of airflow and sensor issues to be careful of and I would want to make sure I wasn't blocking anything critical. But take my advice with a grain of salt because I am still waiting on the truck and front plates arent required here in New Mexico. Here in Albuquerque, based on what I see in traffic, it looks like rear plates arent really required either :)

We're in California. Our 4WP bumpers didn't have a place for tags so we used Kentrol tag mounts in the D-Ring/Shackle slot on front bumper. See pic, it's on the left side. Works great. Link below.

I am still waiting on my Bronco, so not positive what I will do with my plate yet, but there are a few good after market ones that looked like they are placed well.
However, Ive been looking at a lot of the Broncos that have been popping up in southern California the last few weeks, and you know what I havent seen on any of them? A front license plate. I also started watching other cars. Most Teslas, mercedes, or any nice car... No front plate. Are these people just thinking screw it, it looks better just give me a ticket? Any southern california Broncos not put a plate on and have a problem?

Some do and some don't. It's luck of the draw. I could say "it came like this--dealer fault" but I just don't want to deal with any BS from an officer having a bad day

I live in Calif and have not run a front plate on 4 different vehicles (current mustang has no front plate) without issue and don’t plan to put one on my Bronco when/if I ever get it. But back to your question bending up and drilling a couple holes for something to hold a plate seems to be a lost art looking at all the outfits selling brackets. I’m sure a little googling and imagination should turn up something...hell a couple nutserts in that “nudge” bar is all ya need...

That's what I was thinking, now that I have the problem I have been looking around and a lot of cars don't have a front license plates.
I can't take my chances but I'm really sure that I need one to cross the border, which I plan to do every other month I have to figure it out.

You're right. I will figure something out, there should be some brackets to add to the nudge bar.

thank you!

If it doesn't obstruct air nor accessories maybe attach the plate to the bash bar itself. On my Mustang I used strong zip ties and attached to the grill to avoid drilling. It has been there many years with zero issues. For years before that I had small suction cups with hooks and attached to the lowered inside corner of the windshield but eventually moved it since I was worried about the reduced visibility between the plate, rearview mirror, gauge pod and hood scoop.

Have a chat with @HBTFD. He sells license plate brackets for (I think) all of the Bronco bumpers at this point.

I would link you to his original forum post, but of course the search function is horrific and I can't find it.

Was looking at this, doesn’t block intake. Not sure how it mounts to other bumpers, but uses existing bolts on steel mod bumper.

When did California start requiring front plates? Probably because of the tolls/toll cameras all these states keep adding.

Also live in Cali, my last two cars have not had front license plates. I do really like the idea of those license plate wraps though!

Been in California for 17 years and never once had a front license plate on any of 8 vehicles, including Bronco. No tickets or any issues whatsoever.
