Soft top windows are apparently very easy to scratch

Just got home from shopping yesterday and while opening the back door to get my granddaughter out I noticed a scratch in the rear side window. It's almost like a backwards C. Was hoping it was just a smudge at first but it has texture. I have not used anything to clean them. Just soapy rinse. Haven't parked next to anyone. The only thing I can think is something few up and hit it. But weird being a curved pattern. This is going to kill my OCD. LOL

Sorry for the janky pics. I used macro to show it better.

Hopefully windows only replacements are or will be available. I had a hanger poke a hole in a window on my '95 YJ soft top when we were moving from IN to NM. On my Bronco, my whole soft top is basically totaled. Stupid man bun position doesn't fit in the garage.

Yeah there are a few good products to fix this. I'm not going to bother until next spring. I want to see what the winter weather has to offer. I'd rather do it all once.

And yes I know all of the winter precautions. Don't use a brush. Don't wipe the snow off. Lightly tap from the inside or above the windows or let the heater do the work. These things have more rules than a mogwai. LOL326780B1-5DE2-48CC-B221-E066591CBD0D.jpeg

I used a gas station squeegee on my soft top’s rear window and scratched it all to hell. Lesson learned. 😭

Ugh I don't even know that I would use one of those on my glass windows. LOL

This is what I hated about a Jeep I owned and why I swore I’d never get another soft top. I’m OCD too. Couldn’t ignore it

Maybe it was from putting the soft top all the way down. Idk

This 3 step Novus soft window repair process (see pic) should help fix your soft windows. But if its deep not sure. Few vids on youtube showing how it works.

For daily cleaning, I use Plexus on all plastic windows - works great, no scratching and actually will “heal” some superficial scratches @Garemlin

Haven't had the opportunity to do that yet. Weather hasn't permitted.

The garage door is fine. Top works too. We don't need a crow bar to latch the front. But some elbow freaked is required. I have done it twice now. Trick is to air down the rear tires before you back up. But, the jack and air compressor are in the shop behind the house. So it is a dog and pony show. Funny thing is, the detached shop was built with a taller door. But, I'm an old woman and do not want a manual door and to walk outside when I come and go. Need to hang something that will whomp me on the head if I try it again. Pic of the shop with my husband's '84 CJ7 in the background.

Whole soft top was $12,000 last August. Nothing is a reasonable price.
