My Dealer Gave Me Reason To Be OPTIMISTIC

My dealership is the best. Like many of you, I've been waiting a long time to take delivery of my order, placed years ago. They want me to take my Bronco home as much as I do. They've been very transparent and they have given me hope that the process will go smoothly.

They told me they are going to prioritize the PDI once my Bronco arrives! They know I've got a financing deadline to beat, and want to be sure my deal is as sweet as can be. How cool is that? Also, I've been reassured that they will not be drilling holes in the Bronco for the front plate. It's a minor detail, but somewhat important to me. It's the little things...

BUT, they did mention something that could be a fly in the ointment. Apparently, some Broncos arrive at the dealership damaged. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen, and they wanted me to be aware of the possibility that something unpleasant may be discovered during the PDI. I hope my Bronco arrives intact and blemish-free, but I appreciate their precaution.

Call me an OPTIMIST, but I think I'm going to be fine, and my Bronco is going to be just perfect. šŸ˜Ž

Chris it will be fine. Sending good vibes your way. And if not it can be fixed. Hereā€™s hoping you beat your financing deadline.

My dealer told me they donā€™t drill for license platesā€¦. Hoping thatā€™s trueā€¦. As with most things the left and right hand donā€™t always communicate wellā€¦

I asked about the second license plate thing to with my dealership and they made sure to note in my file to not put that on since my tags will be registered to my home state which is Tennessee and not with Washington and Tennessee doesnā€™t do a second license plate

My dealer said they donā€™t drill holes in any of their ā€œspecialty cars,ā€ which includes the Bronco and the Mustang. But they do ask if the customer wants to have the front license plate bracket installed. It seems folks that buy these models are ā€œuniquely enthusiastic.ā€ Gee, ya think? šŸ¤Ŗ

Lovinā€™ Optimist Prime! šŸ„°šŸ˜‚

I have a very thin but long scratch on my tailgate that you canā€™t really see because of how thin it is and because of the tire. But you can definitely feel it and see it when youā€™re at just the right angle. I donā€™t even think the dealership guys saw it during the PDI. Otherwise, I donā€™t have any other shipping damage.

I hope the service guys remember not to drill on your front plate holder! Iā€™m sending you good vibes for it. It ticked me off that they put mine on after being asked not to do so. But it is what it is.

A couple of people at the dealership gave me assurances that it's their policy to never drill holes into new vehicles to install front license plate brackets, so I'm confident they'll abide. They did say that they are legally required to inform us that a front plate is mandatory in Washington state. "Wink wink wink..." šŸ˜‰

It's funny how this subject becomes the centerpiece of so many PDI stories! We're a passionate bunch, aren't we?

Canā€™t wait to hear the word that you got it! My dealer was good to me. Gave me price protection, even though I didnā€™t qualify, and followed my request for no front license plate holder (probably wouldnā€™t anyway since we donā€™t have front plates in AZ) and no dealer decal (think they were offended but what the heck).

Oh, I forgot to mention that the Customer Relations manager, who is currently a Bronco owner waiting on the delivery of an explorer, offered me the Bronco swag she received but has no use for. As a non-reservation holder, I was ineligible to receive the swag. She thought it would be kind to share it. It is, and sheā€™s cool, and Iā€™m as grateful for it as I can be! šŸ¤“
