Common Bronco Issues Solved by Having the Right Number of Doors

A NON-SERIOUS THREAD that may help some owners know what to watch for in theirs.
No mean-spirited comments. There is no right number for everyone. Door count is not that serious, for real.

I recently dropped my 2-door Badlands off at work to trade for our 4-door Bronco Nation Wildtrak so I could head down to Super Celebration East in Tennessee. Most of the time, when I switch from one set of doors to another, I forget what's going on behind the driver's seat because the two feel so similar.

However, there were a couple differences, two I see called out on Facebook posts often:
1. The window switches 😭 4-door owners, I feel your potential pain. The number of times I lowered the back windows when I was aiming for the front definitely clocked in the double-digits. I see people asking why Ford doesn't have the front window switches at the top and the rear windows underneath ... 2-door owners have it so easy with two switches. You always know which one you're gonna get without thinking about/feeling around for about it! Tip for those FB posters -- Horizontal the switches in your mind: They're laid out like the windows in the Bronco.
2. The sound system. My '21 Badlands has the High Pkg, and the '21 Wildtrak has Mid. Both vehicles have the factory hard top, sound-deadening liner, and the same number of speakers. The Wildtrak is modified, but the wind and tire noise is not any worse in it than mine based off the very nonscientific "I feel." I won't claim that the sound system is great in either, but I think I need to recant times I've said non-B&O factory sound is not so bad. It was pretty awful in the 4-door, which I attribute to the larger cabin? Not an expert, and like I said, this post is made in fun. Correct me if you think it's due to something else. But if I had something I would modify on our '21 Wildtrak, it would definitely be the sound system.
3. More entry points on the 4-door. Obvious, yes. But I've gotten so used to having to plot how I grab something from the back of my Bronco, I kept heading for the tailgate or passenger door to get stuff from the rear seats in our Wildtrak. I mumbled to myself at one point, oh, I forget there's more doors ..
Can be a really awesome feature to not have to contort and stretch to reach on the regular!

Those of you who have driven/owned both door counts, or are just really passionate about what you've got, what do you think is solved by your setup or a flaw of it? What surprises you when switching/you take for granted on yours? Examples include wheelbase, storage, and of course, cupholders. Owners of the other, can you help "critics" fix their complaints?

All I want to say is that I often switch between my wife's 4-door Jeep JLU (the daily driver) and my 4-door Ford Bronco (the garage king) and the window switches screw me up every time. Why aren't these built into the doors on both vehicles? If you're going to run power to the doors, just run the switch there too.

Four switches on the console below the AC controls. The top switches are the front doors, the bottom switches are the back doors. Just like the Bronco they are laid out to follow the doors. Except in the Bronco the bottom switches are the front windows.

It makes sense, because I'm betting most drivers open the front windows more often the rear. Feeling downward/glancing down for the next set must either take some getting used to or it's forever a pain, I'm not sure.

I'm just glad we have options. The next Bronco will be a 2-door DS Mansquatch Badlands modded to look like a baby glades, but this one we will probably mod up like @Unicorn has done. Darryl will be moved to just being a garage king and weekend driver since he is pretty special, and we are keeping him forever.

If I were to do it all over again, I would get the 2DR. Only because my kids are off to college and don’t need the extra doors. I am content with my ‘21 BL and will drive it until it dies a natural death.

I would guess they didn't put the window switches on the doors for the case in which you only had the driver's door off, you wouldn't be able to roll down windows on the other doors.

Going from a bronco four-door to a two door, the only issues that I’ve had was the back storage and the lack certain mods for the two door. Like the only mod that I would really love to have for the two door is the sliding out tailgate.

You would lose the bet!!

I have you know, I have a 4 door, and the back windows have had more up/downs than the fronts. (Okay, maybe only because I hit the wrong button 96.8654% of the time) but that's beside the point. 🤣

Yeah love my 2dr Black Diamond Squatch. I’m so lucky to have one with the 2.7. It’s a beast. Can’t get one anymore except in the $80K circus edition Stroppe.

Being that I'm Team 2 door, I find you really need to plan and organize. I would not change it for anything , well except for the Cliffhanger concept. Anyways we just did the trip to SCE from Phoenix. It was 4000 miles round trip. We had a 10x10 pop-up shade, fridge, 2 chairs, clothes and food. Everything was inside. I don't do anything on the roof or piling on the spare tire. It's great for my wife and I. I just have to think twice, do we need it or not? Family's, pet's the 4 door is more practical.

For my purposes anything more than 1 door is a waste of raw material.

Two door for life!

If you take out the rear seats like I did you never have to deal with passengers! It’s just me and the wife! This means
  • I can play the correct music.
  • I only have to load gear for two people.
  • I also get a spotter I can trust.

The main reason though,Broncos are already so square, just own it and go full cube! Four doors? Jeez just get a limo already! :)
