Curious if anyone has done a comparison on the 23 hard top vs 21-22, if they’ve changed anything in terms of materials, weather sealing, etc. I’d hope they’d be thinking about at least minor improvements given the problems. Are any 23’s cracking? Leaking?

Probably changing nothing. A crap shoot at best between a good or a bad top.
My 2dr 2022 top has been perfect. At least so far.

I got the 2021 MIC 2.0. It has been good. No complaints.

There was a 2023MY at the dealer the other day that I ALMOST traded in my Bronco for... because... I can't control myself I guess. (It was literally the exact same build, just in Eruption Green instead of CG, and it had the subwoofer that is was standard on 2023MY.)

I did inspect the hard top looking for differences, and I saw none. As far as I can tell it is exactly the same as my 2022MY hard tops. Also worthwhile to note I have zero issues with my 2022MY hard top, but my Bronco was also built later in the year.

I wouldn't be surprised if the factory is making manufacturing refinements as they go along, but I definitely don't think there is any major improvement in the 2023MY tops, and the part numbers haven't changed in Ford's part system.

Two months of ownership, some heavy rains, no issues.

My 2023 leaked during heavy rains. Took it to dealer and said they replaced the seal. Next rain it leaked again. Realized it’s when I park in my driveway with an uphill grade. I backed in and parked facing downhill and next rainy day it didn’t leak. No point in taking it back to dealer. Seems more like a design issue.AA4B1FB4-102C-4109-BBB1-A9BBE3FF0A50.pngBAFCED88-8B3F-4623-8F5A-A57D2394DCFC.png

There are three different part numbers for the same rear cap now so I’m a bit surprised there haven’t been any noticeable changes.

I've had absolutely no issues with my 2022 top, I try to keep the seals conditioned regularly on than that nothing.

You absolutely should take it back to the dealer, the last two hurricanes that hit us here dumped 12.5 inches in less than 24 hours along with 80++ winds and mine didn’t leak a drop. You should get yours fixed and Ford should take care of it, why should you have to compromise.

I just happened across a 23 Wildtrak and took a peek at the hard top. They still have the same terrible honey combing on the back as the 21s do, maybe even a bit worse on this one. It doesn’t look like anything has changed on the exterior finish at least.

Can’t speak to the 23 hard top. I have a 21 wildtrak with hard top here in Minnesota. No leaks through any rain or snow. I hear a few more creaks and pops during the winter but that was to be expected when see single digit highs.

So far the 2.0 hard top has been solid with no leaks as of yet, other then a few pops here and there when its super cold out, but other then that no complaints from me.

Ah your right!

I admittedly didn’t even look at the rear shell, just looked at the front panels since those are the ones that typically leak.

I shall investigate.
