You can’t group 1980-1996 Broncos together!

I’m surprised Ford has grouped the entirety of 1980 to 1996 Broncos together. This is similar to how on FTE, the 1987-1991 Broncos are grouped with the 1992-1996 Broncos.
Most of the bullnose Broncos have carbs, while most of the others have fuel injection. Not to mention differences in sheet metal, front ends, EEC IV vs OBD2, interior differences, steering columns, rear axles, etc.

There needs to be different sections for each of the Broncos, otherwise this section will be so convoluted and messed up, people won’t go on here, especially when there is FTE, a site that tons of people are already on, including retired Ford parts managers, engineers, etc.

I hope the moderators see this.

We debated this quite a bit when setting up the site and in the end decided there were more similarities than differences. The progress over 1980 to 1996 is more evolutionary than a complete model change. (As compared say to the change from 1979 to 1980.) That was our reasoning at the time but I do understand your concern. I’ll pass this on for consideration. Thanks for the feedback.

I'm fine with it, most of those things are very easily interchangeable, such as upgrading from the later models 8.8 to the earlier 9". or doing engine swaps etc. It is a lot less complicated than swapping in the axle from a 78/79 for example. And 78/79 engines don't directly swap into 80-96 broncos because of the oil pan and interference with the welded skid plate on the TTB broncos.

The rest of the story - we have divided the Gen 3-5 into their own forums. Plus added a BII forum . . .

Well said. At least separate the ugly Bricknose broncos from it. Lol.
