Why can’t Ford fabricate removable metal roofs?

In WW II, Ford built metal tops for its military vehicles. It’s not that hard, especially when you need TOPS

We’ve got the patterns. ;)

Weight is a HUGE concern to all automakers. It lowers their mpg.

Hmmm welll it might also affect the drivability of the vehicle.. idk if it would help or not.. I’d love to see it first hand in action.. they should put together some kind of crazy rally bronco

The metal roofs, with the bracing that is required for strength, would be to heavy to remove easily.

Personally I'd like to see a permanent hard top version of the Bronco. The removable top really isn't the big selling point for me anyway.

I would accept anything that we could remove once we got it home. Make it temporary like on the 2dr models just to get them into driveways

And for me it is. Everyone wants a little something different. Not bad, just different.

Hush your mouth, heathen.
Lol
Not big thing on my list either, but I may use it.
I enjoy leaving just a bikini top on my 69 Bronc all summer.
But it has never been my daily driver.

They would definitely need the sound deadening inserts then, more material than the MIC even.

I agree it would make the vehicle even more roadable and eliminate a lot of squeaks and rattles you get with removable or soft tops. It wouldn't change the off-roadability at all.

I would like a supply of olive or avocado oil to cook myself in, while rolling around in 100+ temperatures in the AZ summer heat. I want to make sure I am cooked up nicely before being served up!

Of course here in Florida the humidity is so high you can swim right out of the vehicle anywhere you go with the top off.:ROFLMAO:

Material is more expensive. Longer and more expensive to fabricate. Heavier and harder to remove and reinstall again. That is just to start.

Ain't that the dang truth! Here in SC the same thing. You're fine as long as you are rolling but come to a stop at that first red light and you might as well break out the scuba gear!

Ive had my 69 bronco for 26 years. I drive the steed year round and as I’m located on The west coast of Canada, I remove/install the metal hard top twice a year. It’s a pain in the butt!

How about a wire frame top. Cover it in WHATEVER. ….Just make a damn top so we can get a Bronco
