I would say it has to be this one right here. Not sure if the owner is on here, or not. Don’t know if it’s possible to have an earlier one. Really cool!

I don’t know about the oldest here but here’s my 66. Original Roadster, has the early eyebrow grill and unique early 66 tailgate.

That one was the Shelby bronco, which was a prototype and not a production bronco, has a different vin sequence as well. The first known production bronco vin is U15FL732005. Since there are no Ford records remaining prior to 1967 and since the F100 rolled down the same line as the broncos, we don't know if 732000-732004 were broncos or F100 or a mix. I've been collecting 66' u13 vin numbers over the last year or so, trying to determine how many of the 4090 that were built still remain. I'm up to 417 as of now. The earliest known u13 is U13FL732150.

the shelby seemed listed as a weird number such as 4Yxxx or something (5 zeros at the end too?) I'd never seen - it was not typical
" ... U15FL xx... "
I guess Caroll earned it

Yeah prototype vin, it wasn't even built at the same plant as the production broncos.

Budd

Budd's were used in production broncos too. They were the same as the prototypes that got prototype vins.

Any way you chalk it up this is a rare and super cool steed. I remember reading about this one and I think it was going to auction. There was also one that had a similiar story but with Dan Gurney rather then Carroll Shelby and it sold quite cheaply on ebay a few years ago because nobody involved realized what it was.
