Which top now???

I feel like there is something more to it too, but what do I know? Does anyone think that First Edition folks can still wait for the Painted Modular and get a 22 FE?

Ok watching the IG Live now and FE can ONLY get the MIC. UGHHHH

From what I read in their letter, Ford is trying to not have any FE 22 because it defeats the purpose. I think their ideal is that FE owners get the MIC and keep it or then buy the MOD top when it is available.
This stems from having too many models and options instead of keeping it simple with a Base and Badland that are fully customizable.

Yeah. FORD really messed this up. They couldn't even limit the painted modular tops to only First Editions that wanted them. FE is looking less and less special by the day...

They really did it when they doubled the number of FEs. They did the same thing to my brother when he got his 2003 Mustang Mach 1, they doubled the production for that model.

I now have learned that any time Ford is giving something away for free, e.g. 62K Ford Pass Rewards, 200K Ford Pass Rewards, $495 Headliner, I know bad news is coming!

Just got my Ford email. Only offering a MIC top on the FE. No dual top either. Sorry, that does it for me. I'm bowing out...nit spending 76k on a Ford with a plastic roof. We'll see what colors, options, and trims 22 brings.

I'm going to wait until Saturday and see just how ugly that top is. So far this is really bad news. A gray top with black wheel flairs and black bumpers and black rims is completely moronic. It's like changing the James Bond theme song to 70's porn music and thinking no one will notice. Ford should make a black top as a late arrival option. Buy it now with the rag top and then come back later and get the real top. This solution is total BS. It's probably because they moved their production down to Mexico. In addition, I agree with what was previously shared that they should have kept the FE number to 3500 an actually been able to have made them. Greedy pricks jumped it to 7000 after the first 3500 people were told that's all that would be made. No consideration given to if they could actually produce them.

My decision to leave the FE order in 99 status and letting it convert to a regular MY22 trim order is now final. I will go with my OBX for MY21 and wait to see what special trims, new colors as well as new options are available in MY22.

I will go with my OBX for MY21 and wait to see what special trims, new colors as well as new options are available in MY22.

That is probably a solid call. I would rather have a Heritage model over a FE. Easy for me to say as I am not an early reservation

My brother and I both reserved FEs on the first night, but as of that night it showed we had ordered two. That was cleared up, but it was to late. There never was an open window for the new 3,500 to go on sale. The orders just appeared even though they announced 7,000 days or weeks later. It would be a major move for them to say no, so they upped the number. Coincidence that it was exactly double? Not 5,000 or 10,000, but 7,000.

I too believe that there was a definite glitch in the reservation process. I don’t know of anyone that actually reserved an FE after that first day. I think they just bumped the number up to cover the glitch, the alternative would have been telling 3500 people “sorry, we had an error and you don’t actually get an FE”

No. They are forcing FEs to accept the MIC top, or change your choice of trims.

I dunno Ford has a track record of this. I think they were planning it from the get go. They just wanted to see how quick they sold out before they announced it.

If you are gonna say that they are doing this on purpose with no evidence? People are already upset enough. Ford isn’t the only one having supply chain issues. If it is that bad don’t wait buy something else
