When I get pushed to 2023, can I change trim and options amd still have price protection?

I ordered 12/8/21. I foolishly thought I'd get a Bronco in 2022. When I get pushed to 2023, how does the price protection work? What if I want to switch trim levels and options? Is there only price protection for an identical build to my 2022? I ordered a pretty much loaded 4 door Outer Banks for 2022....2.7, MIC, luxe, tow, roof rails. I'm thinking of switching to a 2 door Black Diamond with mid package, tow, 2.3/auto.

I ordered July of 21, reordered October 21. I have a feeling I'm going to be bumped to 23. My dealer told me that I will still have price protection. Wait and see. I hope I get bumped. I want AMB, if that is truly coming back

To be perfectly honest, we don’t know.

We do know that early reservation holders (those who ordered before March 19th, 2021) will have price protection through 2023. For everyone else, nothing has been announced yet. But I would assume Ford will release that information in the next 2-6 weeks.

I should note that people who ordered a 2021 Bronco after March 19th and got bumped to 2022 had to pay the full 2022 price, they did not receive any price protection to cover the increased cost between 2021 and 2022. So there a good chance that you may not see any price protection if you get bumped to 2023. BUT, that’s 100% pure speculation on my part.

I believe if you switch trims and/or # of doors you would loose price protection. I’m a July 2020 reservation holder and when I switched to the Everglades I lost price protection. But I was locked in at the 2022 Everglades price.
