I would recommend tapping the hole to one size larger. If I remember right they are 1/4” bolt , so 5/16” should do the trick. A hardware store should have a tap and bolt for under $20.

Sorry I actually have the 302 AOD transmission so do you know the size of that bolt?

Welcome to Bronco Nation!
I hope you get answers to your question and get the leak taken care of.
Would a helicoil or something similar work?
I'm going to move this to the appropriate section.
Good luck!

When you are ready to work on it. Pull one of the pan bolts and go to the local hardware store to find the size. Then you will need to measure the hole depth as well. From that you can identify the right Helicoil kit to use with your trans pan.
Now if you can't do that easily because of where you live, you could call a transmission shop and they should be able to help you with the bolt size if no one here has it.

That would have been great advice back in 1993 :)

My son's '93 F-150 with an E4OD did the same thing and we did helicoil inserts in almost every hole. It was a solid repair. Be sure to use a good gasket and don't over torque the bolts.
